UK 6 A Side Championships: What Happens Next?

Entries are still flooding into the UK Minifootball Offices for the UK 6 a side Championships, which take place two weeks tomorrow.

Well over 200 teams have already signed up for the annual 6 a side extravaganza, to be held at Moor Lane Pavilion, Birmingham.

Entries are still being accepted up until next June 3rd at midnight.

We will then be contacting all teams to give them their fixture times for the day.

Tournament Organiser Alex Young said: “We are contacting all teams as soon as their entries come over to keep them informed. Many are asking if they can have their kick off times there and then, but unfortunately that isn’t possible while we are still getting so many team entries in.”

Alex, however, did confirm that the format for the tournament will remain largely the same, with all teams getting a minimum of three games during the day.
There will be a group stages in the morning and early afternoon before the knockout stages begin.

The whole tournament is scheduled to finish around 7pm.

Teams from ccross the UK are rushing to confirm their places in the biggest 6 a side tournament in the world, which takes place next month, knowing that a good showing could even see them represent their country.

The FREEBETS UK 6 a side Championships will see over 250 teams will descend on Moor Lane Pavilion, in the shadow of Aston Villa’s iconic Villa Park Stadium, on June 8th and will battle it out to see who is crowned as the best 6 a side football team in the UK.

The tournament – which is run by the United Kingdom Minifootball Association (UKMA) - marks the biggest single one-day 6 a side football tournament anywhere in the world this year and Head Organiser Alex Young admitted that he could not wait for the event to kick off: “Everything is geared up already,” he said. “It is going to be a fabulous day and marvelous to see the skills on show.”

Over 200 6 a side squads have already confirmed their attendance for the day, from as far south as Cornwall right up to the north of Scotland, with Alex admitting that it showed the truly nationwide appeal of the ever-growing sport, which now – according to recent estimates - sees five million people a week playing regularly: “More people play small sided football now in the UK than 11 a side and this really is a showpiece event for us all to look forward to.”

The event, which has run since 2008 was won by a team from Reading last year, and teams that enter for 2013 event will be competing not only for a trophy worth £5,000, but also any player that impresses could be in line to play for their country, as Alex explains: “We also hold the license to run the England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland international minifootball teams and any player that catches the eye on the day will be invited to trials which could see them picked to play for their country in international tournaments.”

As most of you know, we no longer run the UK 6 a side Championships. And many teams are asking how to register for the fun in June.

The good news is it has never been easier!

Whereas in previous seasons teams have had to go through a slow process which saw them have to wait for an invitation, sign into the website, put a code in, then have to do the same on the National Tournament site, this year entry is just one click which will take two minutes.

What The UK 6 a Side Changes Mean For Leisure Leagues Teams

We have received many phone calls and emails from teams who want to know what the changes to the National Tournament this year mean for them.

As many of you know, we no longer run the UK 6 a side Championships as it is now called, having sold it earlier in the year. Unfortunately this means our teams can no longer have free entry. However, the cost for the day is just £5 for all teams plus insurance of £24.95.

The good news, though, is that the UK 6 A Side Championships is open to all teams from up and down the country whether they play in Leisure Leagues or not, meaning that the competition will be far bigger and if you win it, you will know that you truly are the best! And if even if you lose out it will still be a brilliant day.

The tournament takes place on Saturday 8th June 2013, at Moor Lane Pavilion in Birmingham – which has been the venue for the last two years.

UK 6 a side Tournament To Double In Size

The United Kingdom Minifootball Association, who now run the former National Tournament, have announced that this years UK 6 a side football Championships is on course to double in size this year as the unprecedented levels of interest in the June tournament continue.

Twice as many teams have signed up compared to this time last year as they take advantage of the lower prices and easier to understand pricing structure compared to previous events.

The 2013 the competition was won by Reading, while in 2012 Uxbridge ended the Midlands and North domination of the event.

The first ever tournament was won by a team from Stockport, while wins for Northwich and Cannock, Widnes and Solihull have occurred in other tournaments.

This week’s team of the week are Camborne’s very own Green Army.

The boys are struggling at the wrong end of the Tuesday league in the Cornish town – which is the furthest south that we run a league in the UK – but they are one of our most committed teams.

They have been in the league for years, but that only tells half the story.

Hardly Athletic went three points clear at the weekend as the race for the league title gathered pace.

With over three quarters of the season gone, anything could happen over the next four weeks as this season has proved that all teams in the league are capable of taking points of each other.

Stratford Wednesday 5-a-side league

The Campden Blue Sox set up Camp and defended Soxcessfully, right up until the moment they let The Mighty Hammers in and that's when they Blue it. Once the Hammers found that gap they just kept chipping away until they took the hole lot with a 7-1 win.
Inter U Nan kept it going right to the bitter end, but the Substandard Leige knew that wheres there's a Will there's a way and they were soon to inherited the lead and finally go on to take the whole lot with a 3-1 win.
The Charlie Victors were at the wrong post code at the wrong time as the Stratford Shooters used them for target practice ahead of next weeks probable season decider and they shot them down for a 9-2 win.
Toms Allstars were the trailing stars for most of the game until they got it meteorite against the Emile Heskey Wanderers with a last minute trailblazer that won them the game 5-4.

NAILBITING FINISH SEES TITANS FC CROWNED CHAMPIONS!!

With Boughton Bombers needing a 5-0 win in their final game to clinch the league title, the stage was set for a grandstand finish in the Premier league.

They laid siege to the Pirates goal but could only manage a 4-0 win, thus handing the title to Titans FC!!

In the 1st Division, Quaystone Kops needed to beat Cheshire Rent Boys to clinch the title, but suffered a 1-0 defeat.

However both teams can now look forward to life in the Premier league.

And finally, bottom team in the 1st Division, Chester Mess FC, managed a worthy 1-1 draw with Capo Rangers thanks to a last minute equaliser by Man of the Match Anwar who displayed the hungry instincts of a deadly goal poacher (well that's how his mates describe him) to snatch a draw from the jaws of defeat!!

It all starts again next Wednesday!!

The penultimate round of fixtures this week has pretty much decided the final league stats with the exception of goal difference. 2 Left Feet have retained consistency in the second half of the season to put themselves in pole position. Useless FC have faltered recently with some performances they will want to put right next week and next season. Our first round seen an under strength West Haddon take on Borussia Munchen Flapjack. Largely the game highlighted this as West Haddon were often camped in their own half and plenty of gaps in their defence as they were trying to make up for their depleted team as best they could. West Haddon could take a lot of positives from the game. Despite their disadvantage, they were able to threaten Borussia's goal at times when in possession, but chances weren't frequent enough to register a goal. This is something which Borussia will feel should not have happened really given their man advantage. Borussia had some nice pieces of play in spells exploiting the space they had available to them, with man of the match James Howe able to demonstrate his ability as a result. In truth it possibly should have been more. With West Haddon having 4 outfield players, Borussia needed to be more clinical and not waste chances in order to drive the advantage further. This is something which Borussia need to address along with personnel in defence, and they will build on a respectable campaign next season. In the end Borussia taken a routine 6-0 win but credit to West Haddon... they gave it a good go and a respectable scoreline given the situation. West Haddon haven't had a real chance to demonstrate what they can do in this league, but given the effort tonight, West Haddon will feel they can make a real contribution next season. At the same time, Beast FC were entertaining Rugby XI and seemed in confident mood. Th greater pace and strength on the ball enabled Beast to regularly test Rugby XI's defence consistently. They were able to distribute the ball wide regularly to really disorganise Rugby's defence and find gaps. Man of the match Jordan Benning enjoyed the possession Beast had by close foot work and pace to make large strides forward and get Beast on the front foot on many occasions. In the end Beast ran out 13-2 winners. Beast may not be able to catch 3rd spot now with one game left but they have had a good debut campaign in this league and something to build on next season to try and go for a top 3 spot. Our second round of fixtures seen Useless FC play Nationwide Windows, in a game which they really needed to win. Did new players for Useless mean a fresh impetus and an advantage in the game? Not as far as Nationwide were concerned. Nationwide Windows played with a good authority in the middle of the park. They have players with good strength who can keep hold of the ball and give other players more time move through, which is where man of the match Ryan Cashmore got a lot of joy out of the game. He got the team moving forward driving through midfield and looking to slip people in on goal. One of the reasons Nationwide have come to prominence is the organisation they have at the back. Throughout this game their sweeper also marshalled the back really well and communicated often which limited Useless in the number of chances they are more used to. For Useless, it's a bit of frustration. The new players individually looked quite handy and as a result were able to keep hold of the ball and create some opportunities but as a team they need time to gel it seems. Also with key players not playing consistently, they know they will have to address these issues to have a chance again next season. All in all a great effort from Useless so far and a very good campaign which they can build on next season. For Nationwide, they may feel they have the right crop of players and organisation now (which they may have lacked in the first half of the season) to really push on for a top 2 spot spot next season. Finally 2 Left Feet entered the fray to take on Borussia, with a league win under their belt. 2 Left Feet approached the game fairly casually, which seemed to play in their favour as they had good composure on the ball and retained possession for large periods. With solid play from man of the match Matt Wilson, who was able to switch play with searching balls and keep hold of the ball and make the simple passes to slow the game down, 2 Left Feet were in control of this one. Their target man hung off the shoulders of the defence to camp Borussia back. Their back line was generally well organised and dictated the area the game was played in. Their dominance did lead to slight complacency at the back, however, where Borussia were able to move forward and counter to get efforts in on goal, with which they scored twice from. Borussia did work hard to try and limit the amount 2 Left Feet stretched them and will have been quite happy with the final scoreline. Overall a routine win for 2 Left Feet with a 5-2 win as they have one eye on next week and the league standings.

VC United Are Top Of The League!

This week saw VC United go top of the league for the first time after a default 5-0 win due to the Unpredictables, unpredictably dropping out of the league. The first official game of the new season saw Blue Toon held to a 1-1 draw with AFC Six Offenders in a very heated game. Offenders 'keeper Ash Preece was the MotM with some great saves. Current champions Real Deal carried on from last season, winning 3-1 over Somerset Lions with a Chad Millard goal within the first 20 seconds. The final game saw FC Sweat overcome Torrwood Galacticos 5-2 thanks to 2 goals from Toby Corner. We are looking for one more team for the Wells league so if you know of anybody who might like to enter get them to get in touch!

Leisure Leagues Malvern Monday 5 a side league

It was another high quality and competitive night of football in the Leisure Leagues Malvern Monday 5 a side league. The 8 o'clock kick offs saw The Fanatics take on Real Average, and champions Ajax Trees Down take on Shakhtar Lastnite. There was little to choose between Average and Fanatics in the opening exchanges, with both teams playing at a frantic pace. As The Fanatics began to tire, Average seized control in a ruthless manner and won comfortably in the end. MOTM Matt Wren was outstanding linking defence and attack with some clever passing. In the other game ATD were in superb form against Shakhtar Lastnite. They attacked with great purpose and despite Shakhtars brave display, ATD won the game at a canter, with MOTM Nathan Henton putting in an outstanding performance. The 8-30 kick offs were Intomylocal v Malvern Mans, and Chamakh v Tekkerslovakia. Intomylocal and Mans served up a thrilling match, with some truly outstanding football played by both sides. There was little to choose in the first half, where both teams attacked with pace and skill. This theme continued into the second half. Something had to give and as Intomylocal tired, Mans found the extra gear to win this great match. MOTM Jamie Caffull was at the heart of all Mans good play. In the other game, between rivals Chamakh and Tekkeslovakia, another compelling match was being contested. It was a tight and at some times heated game, in which both teams strived for possession. It was always going to be a close match, and Tekkerslovakia found that little bit of extra quality in front of goal to gain the win. MOTM Kyle Stimson was in great form in front of goal, and he contributed to his teams victory. Next up was Vagisil Utd against Powick. This was a tight game, in which Powicks possession based game was put to the test against Vagisils pressing and quick play. Some excellent football was played by both sides, but Vagisils game plan worked perfectly as they overpowered their opponents to win deservedly. MOTM Lee Cowell was excellent for Vagisil, covering a lot of ground in a brilliant all round display. The last game was between Malvern Classic and Malvern Mavericks. Both teams were looking for a win to climb the table, and both were playing some neat football. Mavericks were driven forward by MOTM Martin Reeves, and he inspired his teammates to a well deserved win against a spirited Classic side.

Penn colts v Paradox 2-2 This game started off slowly, with both teams sharing the possession, the game started to come to life with Penn colts having the first opportunity. As the game progressed, it was clear that Penne were looking to gain the 2 points. The first goal was vital in this game, and yet again it was Penne who were looking dangerous, taking the lead. Paradox grew into the game and gained a well taken equalizer from out of the blue. The second half was much better and both teams came out battling. Charlie was on fire with his neat touches and slick turns. But unluckily for Paradox Penne again took the lead. There was only minutes left of the game and Paradox gained momentum to push on to grab a late equalizer.The game was one sided for most spells but Charlie was influential for paradox and spurred his team to a 2-2 draw. Penn colts v Midland all stars (friendly due to Bsides not being in attendance) 2-3 Penn colts looked tired but could still cope with the attacking threat of Midland all stars. Chances were coming thick and thin for both teams, and it was Penn who had soaked up most the pressure who broke the deadlock. The game took a twist and it was Penn who looked the most dangerous having chance after chance!! The half time whistle blew and it was time for Midland all stars to show what they could do, before you knew it there was two quick successive goals from the Midlands. After this Penn started to look like the fatigue had set in, and then conceded another goal. This made the score 3-1 to the Midlands before a late consultation goal from Penn, this was a tight contested game and I look forward to the league game between these two teams Coseley fc v Cigarettes & Alcohol 12-2 In this game it started very evenly, and cigarettes took the lead,this had given Coseley fc the determination to turn on the style and start the rampage! Paul was very influential in this game, he covered every inch of the pitch, he continued to rally on his team being very intelligent with his simple football and knowledge of possession! Coseley fc scored 4 before the break to open up the gap between the two sides. Once the whistle blew Coseley fc were off too a flying start scoring another quick consecutive 5 goals, with Coseley fc on the break cigarettes capatalised on the gaps in the defense to score their second goal. Chance after chance was coming along for Coseley fc, they couldn't believe their luck, although Cigarettes young Keeper Sam tried his hardest he couldn't keep the score down any longer and Coseley again rampaged to score another 3 goals. This game was surely to show how competitive Coseley fc are and this also showed they mean business in trying to win this league!

Season 3 Week 6 Match Report

This week saw another round of eventful and entertaining games in our Burgess Hill league.

The first game of the evening was between Lewes Prison and Bakers Boys. The game started with a very early goal from Bakers Boys but after recovering well Lewes Prison replied quickly. The game settled into a pattern of excellent passing and movement from both sides as they each worked hard to try and take control of the game. Lewes Prison then took the lead but this time it was Bakers Boys who responded and equalised to make it 2-2 at half time. The second half started with a very similar pattern as there was very little to separate the two sides. Once more Lewes Prison grabbed the lead but Bakers again equalised. Gradually Bakers Boys began to get more possession and press for the winner but the outcome of the game was still very uncertain until right at the end when Bakers Boys scored again to take the points.

Next The Grillers took on Multiple Scoregasms. This game started with some smooth accurate passing from both teams although Grillers quickly began to dominate possession. However as always MS defended well and looked very dangerous on the counter attack. This led to them scoring the opening goal and despite some continued pressure from Grillers they grabbed another goal to take a 2-0 lead. Eventually The Grillers did make the pressure tell and pulled a goal back. The second half followed a similar pattern and with further goals from both sides it looked as though MS would claim the win however Grillers laid siege to the MS goal and as MS tired they scored several late goals to take the points in another come from behind win.

Finally in the last game of the evening Woolpack FC played FC Leavemyarcealona. There was a very energetic start from Woolpack who missed a really good chance early on. After this quick start FC Leavemyarcealona began to dominate possession and put Woolpack under pressure. Woolpack defended strongly as always and denied their opponents until finally FC Leave scored twice in quick succession. The second half saw FC Leavemyarcealona very dominant pinning Woolpack FC back but Woolpack worked very hard and continued to defend robustly. However in the end all the pressure did tell and FC Leave scored several further goals to win and claim another two points.

BB FC Mean Business

BB FC proved they are pushing for the Division 1 champions spot with a 6-1 win over Roque Santa Coombes this week with Jack Malone getting the MotM. The clash of the new teams saw Multiple Scoregasms win 1-0 over Aimless Wanderers with Jack Cligt getting the MotM. Real Ale Madrid got a 5-0 win after Chndit didn't turn up. In the Premiership, Bayern Neverlosing were beaten 3-2 by Leave-My-Arse-Alona in a close game, Matt Fowels was the stand out player. Boys of Somer beat Butleigh Dynamos 2-1 and MMFA continued there rampage with a 4-0 win over Team on Tor with Ben Smith getting the MotM.

Norfolk 'N' Chance smashed Obi One Kenobi Nil 8-0 with Danny Chizwell getting the MotM. FC Puma Kings also got a big win, beating El Galacticos 7-0! Farmborough Bounce are keeping their title chances alive with a 3-1 win over Leave-My-Arsealona with Ben Flower being the key player. Division 1 saw leaders Chicken Wanderers 6-0 win over Norad FC with Rees Cook getting the MotM. PURE didn't turn up again so a 5-0 win went to Dyslexia United. S.O.P.S Reunited won 4-2 over Bayer Neverlusen, Mark Broadhurst was the MotM.

The Cobras Creeping Closer To The Crown

The Cobras beat Wolfpack FC 3-2 in this weeks opening game, giving them a 6 point gap at the top of the league. Damon Cotterill picked up the MotM in this game. FC Leave-My-Arsealona beat Blue Bandits 3-1 despite Ryan Chinnock getting the MotM. Green Army picked up this weeks default 5-0 win. The final game saw Barking Waffles win 4-1 over Rooney Toones, Daniel Cannings was the stand out player.

The first match of the evening between Borussia and Nofolk saw competitive hard fought game with both teams tight defensively .Norfolk scored the only goal of the game mid second half and then defended well to secure the win. Again a very competitive 1st Half ending 0-0 between Newhall and Lona. Leave me’s passing game came to the fore in the second Half scoring 3 goals without reply, despite a good defensive display by Newhall with special credit going to Sam Garbutt. The 3rd game of the night ended with a young Unreal holding on to their slender 2-1 lead from the 1st Half against a hard working Monkey. Despite the game being very close it was Madrid that took all the points due to the determination from Benbow.

Well done to all teams on another great night of football in Wilenhall with the league running smoothly like usual. League leaders Boca Seniors kept their two point lead at the top of the table in tact with a hard fought 6-2 win over The Mercs. The game started brightly with Allan giving Seniors the lead midway through the first half. The Mercs however hit back just before half time with a neat finish which crept under the advancing Dumaz’s body. In the second half Boca stepped it up a gear and grabbed a couple of early goals to steady the nerves on the way to a 6-2 victory. Jordan Pearce picking up the man of the match for the victors for his central midfield display. M.C.F made sure that they were still in with a chance of getting their hands on the title after a comfortable 6-0 win against mid table Poets Warriors. Warriors struggled from the start getting anywhere near their opponents who were knocking the ball superbly around the pitch. It was Dean McGregor who opened the floodgate with a fine strike. A further five goals were to find their way into the Warriors goal who will surely be a little disappointed with their display on the night. Elsewhere Inferno smashed five past their opponents without reply in the 8:30pm kick off to move up a place to sixth in the table. On Twitter? If so follow us @leisureleague

Fishy Biff played an exciting game with Kop Idols, Biff winning 4-2 in the end thanks to Ash Reeve. The Radi-Cause continued their great run with a 2-1 win over Murder On Zidane's Floor, Sambo got the MotM. The final game saw QPR go down 2-0 to Sons of Pitches with Kelvin Chivers getting the MotM.

Problems! what problems Who's Keith took all the points with a 5-0 win when the 99 Problems failed to materialize.
The Eagles may have landed but Gail Madrid soon clipped their wings with a 6-1 coo.
Unlike last weeks kick the ankle and ride the ripples game, the 5 Chaps On A Fact Hunt found the Average Joes just a bit harder to solve. The Chaps were forced to cum from behind just to beat the Joes one fat lady by an exciting legs 11-8 scoreline.
Real Tiddington showed a real improvement from last week game and even had the Hardly Athletic boys jumping hoops as they beat them 9-2.
KD 2010 won 8-4, with a result that wouldn't Leavemyarsealona with any points, butt it's the taking part that counts and you can count on both sides being back for more next week.
The Villans may have felt they were robbed, but it was Polonia UK who stole the limelight with an 8-3 smash and grab victory.

The league yet again ran really well with plenty of goals being scored in all three divisions. In the Premier Division Kay FC moved top of the table on goal difference after putting five past their opponents without reply. SVK FC slipped to second despite a convincing 3-0 victory over FC Keego in the 6:30pm kick off. Elsewhere Billy Thandi helped Lat Pro FC to a hard fought 2-1 win over BSDC FC and LTFC went down 5-1 to Yager Bombers with Callum Riddell picking up the man of the match for the victors. In Division One, Fake Madrid still lead the way despite only managing a 2-2 draw with relegation battlers FC Amigo. Veli’s All Stars closed the gap at the top of the table to just a point after coming from behind to beat Ford Iniesta 2-1. In other games, Bad Boys put five past their opposition without reply and PSV Imhungova brushed aside Moderately Athletic to take the points with a comfortable 5-2 win. In Division Two, FC Bamo recorded their first win of the season with an easy 5-0 win over Bayern Neverlusen in their 8:45pm kick off. BPI FC’s good run of form continues after they beat Crew Love 3-1 to remain in second place in the table. The Emile Heskey Wanderers were holding The Mighty Hammers at arms length until the weight of the Hammers became too much and and they crumpled to a 6-2 loss.
Substandard Liege were over the moon as they outshone Tom's Allstars with a sparkling 6-1 win.
The Victorious Charlie Victors left The Campden Blue Sox feeling a little blue after beating them 5-1.
Stratford Shooters showed very little respect as they used Inter U Nan as target practice and banged up an 11-1 win.

A superb evening of football again in Coventry with the league continuing to go from strength to strength. In the first game of the night G Team who were rooted to the bottom of the table prior to kick off took on fourth placed Leeroy Jenkins. The match started brightly with both teams going close early on and it was Jenkins who deservedly took the lead in the first half. G Team stepped up a gear in the second period and two fine strikes by Paw earned his side all the points in a must win game. The result lifted G Team from sixth to fourth in the division. In game two, The Archbishops of Banterbury played host to league leaders Transao FC. Transao dominated the game from start to finish and it was Ale Simoes who picked up the man of the match after helping his side to a comfortable 3-0 victory. In the only other game of the night it was Wonga FC versus Kickin Aces. With Wonga one place off the bottom of the table and Aces one place off top plenty of goals were predicted. Aces come fighting from the first whistle and took the lead early on. With eleven minutes on the clock Paddy Ryan picked up the ball on the right hand side of the pitch and unleashed a thunderbolt from just inside his own half into the top left hand corner of the Wonga goal to double his sides lead. There was another action packed night in the Burton Thursday league with some great performances on display. The night began with both BHA and Brownbrigg taking home all the points as they won their respective points matches with BHA remaining mid table and Brownbrigg closing down for the title. Unfortunately then Amigos did not turn up so Crystal picked up the win and carried on for their chase for first place. Scoregasm then showed why they are top of the league by hammering mid table side Ajax 15-1 with Dent taking control and destroying Ajax's defence and netting five superb goals in the second half as Ajax began to tire. Scoregasm continue to run away with the title and are hoping to be seeing themselves in the Premier Division next season. The Premier Division then began with leaders FCUK once again went home with all the points as they participated in a points match and won 5-0. Two teams also fighting for that all important first place are Baltica and Badger who faced eachother and what would of thought to be a close game turned into a hammering. Baltica showed their dominance throughout the whole game and played some great one touch football building up to the first goal. As soon as the first goal was scored Baltica wanted to kill the game off by scoring three more quick successive goals and walked away confident winners 7-0. Baltica remain second and finish just a point off the top place after a positive season. After doing so well last season Badger will be disappointd to finish mid table this season but hope to improve on this for next season. BAC and BSDC then came toe to toe with both teams fighting for different things, BSDC to try and win the league and BAC are trying to avoid the drop to the division below. BSDC showed why they were in a higher position than BAC with talisman Damon Willday racing through the BAC defence and blasting the ball into the top corner of the net to score the pick of the goals in the game. BAC tried to find a way back into the game by scoring 2 goals on the counter attack but BSDC's talent shined through as they came away winning 7-2. A fine night of 6aside football ended with Boderz ending their season on a high by overpowering a weakened V and D and winning 4-0. Boderz had Crow to thank for the victory as the man of the match scored to superb goals and supplied the other two. Both teams are hoping for a better season when they come back. On Twitter? The first game of the night saw new boys Drum and Monkey claim a 1-0 win against Newhall Massive despite Dan putting in a MOTM performance for the losers. Lona destroyed Norfolk 9-0 with Landsdown the talisman being influential in the win, taking their unbeaten run to 5 games. Madrid nicked a 2-1 against a hardworkingTeeth with Pearson having a great game, keeping up the pressure on Lona.

In a break in the weather, the sun came out to set the scene this week at Rugby Weds. In our first round, we seen Beast FC take on Yoga Bonita. The league suggested there was not a lot between these sides. Beast looked sharp up front with incisive runs and good distribution from the back managing to catch Yoga out a few times. This along with a good performance by their man of the match Alex Moore , enabled Beast to register 3 goals. However Yoga play some strong football themselves at times. Good finishing from their target man up front and busy work in the middle meant that they camped Beast back to protect their goal on numerous occasions. The possession they did get was converted into goals and the game ended 3-3. A true reflection on the balance between the two sides. West Haddon made their league debut against Rugby XI, and were looking to pick up as many points as they can between now and the end of the season. The game started brightly for West Haddon. Man of the match Alex Reece and the lads were able to shift the ball from central positions to wide areas on several occasions to find gaps in Rugby XI's defence. West Haddon shown some good movement off the ball which will help them get points in this league. Rugby XI gave a spirited performance and again were able to score a well worked goal themselves, wwith the highlight of their play coming from their man of the match Billy Baraclough. However it was their own errors and loose marking at times which inevitably cost Rugby XI. The game ended 11-1 to West Haddon. A good start for them and will be looking to build on this. In our second round of fixtures, there was the top of the table fixture which would affect the movements at the top 2 Left Feet entertained Useless FC. Throughout the game, great movement off the ball for 2 Left Feet enabled them to retain possession for large periods and give their players options. They were able to slow the game down at times to a comfortable pace. They shown an organisation at the back which was a huge priority in this fixture as well, and provided the platform to move forward, where their man of the match J. Banton was able to flourish. Useless were putting up a good defence, trying to close gaps, but the overal organisation and fluidity of 2 Left Feet's play paid off in the end and score 4. Although Useless may have felt they underperformed, they did show some signs of strong play and a threat going forward, especially with their pacey man of the match Nick Tomes (apologies if the name is spelt incorrectly!) Overall this was 2 Left Feets night where an accomplished team performance has taken them to the top of the league on goal difference. Still all to play for here at the top, Finally, we seen Borussia Munchen Flapjack take on Nationwide Windows. Nationwide were able to dictate this game, with a greater strength on the ball being able to keep possession and carve out chances. Man of the match performance for Dean Holden assisted this along with their ability to lose their markers and find space. Borussia had the odd chance or two, but wasteful play in the last third has cost them hitting the back of the net tonight. They will know they need to improve their ability to be clinical when in sight of goal. Borussia's great work over the last couple of weeks defensively seemed to be undone. Huge gaps at the back and poor marking, which is not characteristic of their recent play, played a huge part in the 12-0 win for Nationwide.

Boys of Somer Up To Second

Boys of Somer are up into second place in the premier division, with a 2-0 win over Team on Tor. MMFA and Bayern Neverlosing cancelled each other out in a 2-2 draw, with Jack Websters goal giving him the MotM. Butleigh Dynamos managed a 1-0 win over Leave-My-Arse-Alona to keep them in the hunt. In Division 1, only one game went ahead, with Chindit Rangers showing their class again, with a 3-0 win over our new team that still has no name!! A special thanks to our old champions the Victoria Sports boys who came down to help us out with a friendly!

Blue Toon Snatch Second Place

In this seasons final round of fixtures, we saw champions Real Deal suffer their first defeat of the season to Blue Toon, 2-1. This James Sim inspired win was enough to get Toon up to second, where they finish due to other results. FC Sweat needed a win after Toon's win, but could only manage a 1-1 draw with Somerset Lions, Mark Mansfield for the Lions was the MotM. Unpredictables picked up a win over AFC Six Offenders with a hat-trick from Brett Vine to give them a 3-2 victory. The final game of the season saw a brilliant performance from VC United's 'keeper Ames White but it was not enough to secure them a win, with Torrwood Galacticos finishing well to win 5-2. Congratulations to Real Deal who are this seasons champions and to Blue Toon who came in as runners up. Our player of the season was Toon's James Sim with a massive 6 MotM performances. VC United have got the wooden spoon. Fixtures have been given to the team captains ready for the new season next week!

Season 3 Week 5 Match Report

Halfway through the season and despite all the rain there were some entertaining games played in this week's round of matches.

First up Multiple Scoregasms played Bakers Boys. MS started in great form playing some excellent football and they grabbed an early goal. They were playing some slick passing football and creating good chances. Bakers Boys though responded and got an equaliser but MS continued to play well. In the second half MS again started brightly and scored again but gradually Bakers Boys got back into the game, equalised once more and began to create more chances themselves. MS had a string of further chances later in the second half but were unable to take them and Bakers Boys scored several more goals to eventually run out winners 5-3.

The second competitive game of the night was between Woolpack FC and Lewes Prison. This was an even game to start with as both sides battled hard to get control of the game. Lewes Prison eventually began to pressure the Woolpack goal more consistently but Woolpack defended strongly as usual. The second half started with Lewes Prison on top and they were able to grab the opening goal. Lewes Prison then got a second quickly but Woolpack responded well and on the break pulled one back. However more sustained pressure from Lewes Prison eventually led to them getting a third goal which wrapped up the win and the points.

Strong Win For FC Puma Kings

FC Puma Kings are sitting in 2nd place in the Premier Division after a 7-0 win over El Galacticos with no MotM being awarded?? Norfolk 'N' Chance are still top with an 8-0 win over Obi One Kenobi Nil with Danny Chiswell getting MotM. Farmborough Bounce won 3-1 over Leave-My-Arsealona with Ben Flower showing the skill. In Division 1, Rhys Cook led Chicken Wanderers to a 6-0 win over Norad FC. Dyslexia United won 5-0 by default and the final game saw S.O.P.S. Reunited win 4-2 over Bayer Neverlusen. Mark Broadhurst was the MotM.

Green Army Get 4!

Green Army smashed 4 past Blue Bandits in this week´s opening game. The final score was 4-1 with Army's Sean Leach picking up the MotM. FC Leave-My-Arsealona and Barking Waffles played out a 1-1 draw with George Callaghan being the stand out player. The Cobras remain comfortable at the top of the league with a default 5-0 win. Wolfpack F.C. hammered Rooney Toones, beating them 5-1 with Lee Evans picking up the MotM.

Southam 6 a side @ leisure leagues

The STD'S weren't exactly all over Southam Town but they did spread it about a bit and they went on to take the 2-1 win.
Messi's Illegitimate Children probed the Barearsealona defense all game long and couldn't find a crack anywhere, butt Barearsealona were able to drop the kids off for a 2-0 win.
The Knodders proved useful again as they got stuck into The B Team to take the 3-0 win.
The new team The Fifty Shades Of Andy Gray raised some eyebrows in the way they have scored, so The French Toast Mafia intend to send some of the family round to sort out this grey area.

Stratford Sunday 5-a-side at Leisure Leagues

Polonia UK polished off Gail Madrid with a 9-3 win and the man of the match award went to Pawel Haas because he outshone all the others.
99 Problems had few problems with the Leavemyarsealona boys!. Whipping them 5-0 and Keean being the ringmaster tonight.
The 5 Chaps On A Fact Hunt had Real Tiddington worked out as they beat them 15-2 and Matt Trinder was the mastermind behind the onslaught.
The new boys the Average Joes found out Who's Keith the hard way with a hefty 13-3 defeat and the Joes found that James Drinky Drinkwater is just one of an above average squad.
Hardly Athletic stole the points right from under The Villans nose and Christian Stewart picked it just right to take the man of the match award and the 7-6 win.
KD 2010 led by Ben Schuey went to town on the Mockford Town's ghost squad to take the 5-0 win.

The swadlincote Sunday 5 aside league had some great games on display with all teams in attendance. Ward helped Next week to a 11-9 victory despite the valiant efforts of Ace. The game was end to stuff with Ace unlucky not to get something from the game despite scoring 9 goals. The win keeps Next week glued to the top of the table with Ace in 4th place. Another tight game saw Old Boys just nick the 3-2 win against Lesbians which keeps it tight in the middle of the table with 4 teams all on 2 points apiece. In their respective points matches Barca and Borrusssia won 5-0 a piece with some good attacking play being demonstrated

Another good evening of football in Willenhall with all games running really well like usual. In the first game of the night league leaders Boca Seniors took on Poets Warriors. Seniors were looking to make it five wins on the bounce while Poets were looking on building on last weeks victory. It was Boca that shot out the blocks though racing into a 4-0 lead. Poets were limited to only a couple of long rang efforts which never really trouble Dumaz in goal. In the second half it was more of the same with the gulf in class quite obvious, Boca eventually running out 8-1 winners. In game two, The Mercs played host to Midlands Musketeers and with both teams near the wrong end of the table a must was a must. The Mercs started well and had a couple of early chances to brake the deadlock had it not been for the forwards not getting their shots off quick enough. It was the Musketeers that went ahead though with a great counter attack that resulted in a neat finish. Musketeers built on this and The Mercs were no match for their opposition with the later eventually losing the match 9-1. Corey picking up the man of the match for the victors. In the final match of the evening title contenders M.C.F took on an ever improving Inferno side. In the first half both teams had great chances to open the scoring but both goalkeepers were in fine form pulling off some stunning saves. Come the second half M.C.F turned it up a notch and broke the deadlock with a goal from Ryan Walker. The team built on this with a further six goals following and thus eventually running out 7-0 winners. The result leaves M.C.F just two points off the top of the table. On Twitter? The night started with LT coming out 4-3 winners against bsdc with Damon putting a man of the match performance. Also at the same time iniesta come victors by a slim margin beating amigos 2-1 with chunky man of the match. Jager and keego shared the points as the game finished 3-3 it Andy mulley man of the match. Bad boys then came out losers as psv put 4 past them with bad boys only replying with 2 to make it psv 4-2 bad boys with Aaron kendrick coming out man of the match. Then velio were heavily beaten by mod with mod coming out 6-0 winners with Joe dunn earning himself man of the match. At the same time Kay fc scraped past lat pro with the lat keeper having his glasses broken as a superb effort hit him in the face, Charlie wood thumped one in from 20 yards and earning man of the match Kay fc 3-2 lat pro. Qwerty then come out 3-1 winners against crewe love with jaime Disney deservedly getting man of the match, as he tested crewe time and time again. Whilst that game took place the last game of the night ended with shakter thumping new boys bamo 5-0 with Adam king getting man of the match as his versatility helped his team to victory.

Expected Toulouse Pull Off Shock Result

This weeks shock result came from bottom placed Expected Toulouse, getting a 0-0 draw with division leaders QPR. Mike Mulgrew was the MotM for Toulouse! The Radi-Cause closed the gap on Kop Idols, beating them 3-1 with a great display from Fenton (His only name?!). Mallards kept in touching distance with the leading pack thanks to a 4-2 win over Murder On Zidane's Floor with Phil Ford picking up MotM. The final game saw Fishy Biff SMASH 2nd placed Sons of Pitches 7-0!! Toby Bennett was the stand out performer in this game.

An action packed night of football in Burton with the first game being a top of the table clash Scoregasm v Brownbrigg with only goal difference seperating the two sides. Scoregasm set off well and took the lead early with Aaron Carvell slotting the ball nicely under the keeper and into the back of the net. Things only got worse for Brownbrigg as Scoregasm played a lovely through ball to see there striker score one on one with the keeper. Just as the game got into its last few seconds scoregasm found the goal yet again winning 3-0 and remaining top of the league. Breast Homage then pushed on for their place in the nationals by gaining all the points from their points match. Ajax climbed the table as Amigos did not show and therefore Ajax took home all the points. Crystal then ended their divisions night by jumping to second place on goal difference due to them taking the points in the points match. The Premier Division then kicked off with this being the last games of the Divisions season. Baltica started by winning their points match and solidifying a place in the nationals. BSDC and Boderz then came toe to toe with eachother and a winner could not be decided until Ash Riddell broke free and netted for the winning side. The game opened up after this and Boderz soon equalised, only for this to be cancelled out by BSDC as they went back on the counter to score again and win the game 2-1 in an end to their successful season whilst Boderz finished in a solid mid table position. V and D ended the season finishing fifth and defeating Badger 2-0 thanks to an impressive display by talisman Ryan Morris. Premier Divisions season ended with league leaders FCUK taking on 7th place BAC. BAC looked set to ruin FCUK's party by scoring 3 goals in quick time to stun the leaders. FCUK pushed and pushed to find that goal but BAC goal keeper Steve Davis was having none of it and denied them from scoring up to half time with an amazing set of saves. However the second half told a different story as the leaders showed why they were top and punished BAC early with a counter attack and gaining one goal back. BAC soon crumbled as FCUK found a way back in with a penalty and another quick finish to bring it to 3-3. The game looked to go either way and there were more goals to come as the leaders played some lovely passing football which lead to them hammering the ball into the top corner of the net. FCUK then killed off a thrilling game by scoring with in the last minute to ensure them of the win and finishing 5-3. FCUK went onto win the Premier Division after impressively only losing two games all season. BAC on the other hand finished at the other end of the table and hope to improve ready for when the league restarts. The night capped off a great season in the Premier Division. On Twitter? In the first game of the night, Kickin Aces took on Leeroy Jenkins FC. With only goal difference separating the two teams a close match was predicted. Both teams started well and had a couple of chances early on. Aces started to dominate the match but Jenkins defence kept them at bay with the score line 0-0 at halftime. It was more of the same in the second period with Jenkins goalkeeper pulling off a string of fine saves. The deadlock was finally broken with six minutes of the match remaining. Some poor defending by Leeroy costing them a goal. Kickin Aces doubled their lead a minute later with a good finish from man of the match Paddy Ryan. The final whistle blew with Aces taking the points in a 2-0 victory. In the second match inform The Archbishops of Banterbury played host to G Team. Both teams were desperate for points to move themselves away from the relegation zone and it was Banterbury that shot into a 3-0 lead. G Team managed to pull a goal back just before the break to give themselves a glimmer of hope. It wasn’t to be though as a couple of goals by Nick Parry helped his side to a comfortable 5-1 win and thus leapfrogging their opponents in the table. In the final game of the night, Transao FC took on a depleted Wonga FC side. Transao were looking at keeping their two point lead at the top of the table in tact, where as Wonga were looking on closing the gap on the two side above them. It was Transao though that dominated from start to finish, running out overwhelming 6-0 victors. The defeat leaves Wonga in fourth place in the division. On Twitter? If so follow us @leisureleague

Inter U Nan were in seventh heaven after gaining their first point after the seventh attempt with a 5-5 draw against Toms Allstars.
The Emile Heskey Wanderers appear to be wandering up the right track now as they beat the Campden Blue Sox by a11-3 stroll.
Stratford Shooters hijacked the Substandard Liege's plans of breaking into the top two by beating them 5-2.
The Mighty Hammers made their usual break at the top end of the table and drove a small wedge between themselves and the pursuing pack by beating The Charlie Victors 6-2.

Pajero & LOL Cats Top The Tables

Pajero remain on top of the Portishead Sunday 6-a-side Premier Division, despite a goalless draw with Heston Blumenfaulks. Mike Morrell earned himself the MOTM award. 07 Rocks are in 2nd place after a default 5-0 win against Jon, while Portishead Parsnips find themselves only 3 points off the lead after a default 5-0 defeat of Clevedon Crusaders.

In Division One, LOL Cats continued their march to promotion with a resounding 7-0 defeat of The Badgers, with Luke Harwood in great form. There are times where teams who have aspirations to stay at the top have to grind a result out when not playing at their best. This may have well been the case this week - either that or improved displays from all our teams in the league. In our first round, we seen Nationwide Windows take on Hardly Athletic. We see the return of the Hardly after a couple of weeks out of action. This match certainly was a tale of fitness levels and organisation. Hardly looked lethargic after a while out and ran out of steam early on. They displayed some nice passing and direct play at times, especially with their man of the match Liam Moore but overall concentration levels and sharpness need improving. The positive for Hardly is that these are things they can improve with game time. However, it all seemed routine for Nationwide as they made their way to a 13-1 victory (for the second time this season). They looked clinical, their movement off the ball incisive and with the goal threat and tricky play from man of the match Ryan Cashmore, they seen the game out comfortably and in good form. At the same time, Rugby XI, who managed to honour their fixture late doors again, taken on Yoga Bonita. Rugby XI given their patched up team managed to show some attacking potential on the counter and were able to keep competitive in defence for periods of the match, backed up with a man of the match performance from Charlie Cook. Yoga however, had much better organisation. Man of the match Lukasz Nicieja was able to run the show for large periods in the middle of the park to link up defence with attack well. Yoga also had a potent threat up front with good movement and finishing, with some chances being put away with clinical finishing from tight angles. Overall Yoga taken the points comfortably with a 9-2 win, however Rugby XI will take confidence from their two goals. In our second round of fixtures, 2 Left Feet had an encounter against Borussia Munchen Flapjack, who are steadily improving in this league, and set up to ensure this was not just a formality for 2 Left Feet. This game was played with a bit more of a challenge than 2 Left Feet anticipated. Borussia looked to protect their goal, which they done well for large portions of the match. 2 Left Feet may have had the greater control of the ball, but they had to work hard to create enough gaps in Borussia's defence to give themselves a lead. Borussia hit on the counter, with busy work from man of the match James Howe looking to carve open some chances, which proved effective as they managed to reduce 2 Left Feet's lead. 2 Left Feet would have enjoyed a greater margin, but helped with a man of the match performance from Matt Wilson, they had enough about them to get the victory and show that they can grind out wins to keep them in touching distance with the top. Finally Useless had a tricky encounter with Beast FC. Gareth was warned prior to the match not to assume they would get a victory, and that proved right with a real stern test put up from Beast. There was a lot of good play from Beast as they have a real desire to be as direct towards goal as they can. They have plenty of movement and control of the ball to create chances. Useless, do possess some real quality but complacency could have cost them the victory here... something which Useless managed to narrowly avoid. A man of the match performance from Beast player David Supho (apologies if name is spelt incorrectly) helped Beast score twice and made for a nervy game for Useless. Useless in the end created enough chances and kept going to ensure the victory with a narrow winning margin. This game shown what you need to do to stay on top - sometimes you have to grind out a victory when you don't dominate a game, and that's what Useless managed to do with a man of the match performance from Daniel Hartwell. Finally, in our friendly fixture, we seen West Haddon take on Borussia in what was the second leg two their previous friendly which ended 1-1. Again both sides shown similar levels of ability in terms of defence and attacking play. Most of the game was played in the middle of the park, where West Haddon looked to carve open a chance up front, However Borussia marshalled the back line well to prove tricky for West Haddon to break down. Borussia looked to move the ball round from the middle, again to try and create gaps, but they seemed light weight up front and need to shoot when in sight of goal more. This all meant a very tight, low scoring game which eventually was broken when West Haddon converted to take the game 1-0.

Real Deal Clinch The Title!!

The Real Deal have won this season´s Wells Leisure Leagues with a week to spare!! They were made to work by Somerset Lions but in the end came out 5-3 winners with Josh Orton getting a brace and an assist for MotM. Unpredictables overcame VC United and their MotM 'keeper Ames White to win 3-0. Blue Toon are pushing FC Sweat all the way for second place, with the Toon beating AFC Six Offenders 3-2 thanks to a late goal and MotM performance from current player of the season leader James Sim. FC Sweat won 3-1 against Torrwood Galacticos with another MotM from Seb Ridene as he pushes James Sim all the way for PotS.

SANKEY ALL STARS GO CLEAR!!

Current champions, Sankey All Stars, went three points clear at the top of the Widnes Tuesday league after a close 2-1 win over the Peoples Club.

This win now puts them three points clear of rivals Random All Stars who had a great 8-2 win over Brookvale FC.

Ash Hughes was outstanding for Random and rightly picked up the games MOM award.

Season 3 Week 4 Match Report

This was the fourth week of our current season and goalkeepers played a prominent role in several games. There were wins for last season's champions Bakers Boys and Woolpack FC and the points were shared in the game between FC Leavemyarcealona and Lewes Prison.

Bakers Boys took on The Grillers in the first game of the evening. There was a really energetic start to this game from both sides even though The Grillers started the game a couple of players short. Both sides created some really good chances and the woodwork was rattled several times. Bakers Boys were able on get in control gradually and begin to pressure The Grillers goal but Grillers were a constant threat on the break. The second half started with Bakers Boys laying siege to The Grillers goal and forcing a succession of excellent saves from their keeper. Despite this though in the end the pressure began to tell and Bakers Boys were able to force more goals ending up 4-1 winners to claim the two points.

In the other competitive fixture of the night FC Leavemyarcealona played Lewes Prison. The game began very evenly with both sides playing some neat football and passing it fluently. At first there was very little to choose between the sides but gradually FC Leavemyarcealona began to dominant possession more but chances were still at a premium. Although both sides had opportunities they were unable to take them with a number of shots on goal being missed and good saves being made. The second half followed a similar pattern with FC Leavemyarcealona eventually becoming more dominant but neither side was able to take advantage of the chances they continued to create and the game ended in a 0-0 draw.

Cobras Keep The Winning Streak Going

Current leaders the Cobras kept their unbeaten season going with a 4-2 win over Blue Bandits, Tom Patterson was the stand out player. In a very heated Green Army v Barking Waffles game we saw the Waffles come out on top 6-2 after 2 sendings off in the game. Tom Dewdney was the MotM. Wolfpack grabbed a 5-0 default win. FC Leave-My-Arsealona beat Rooney Toones 3-2 in a tight game. Tom Abrahams again picked up the MotM.

A great evening of football in Burton again with plenty of goals being scored through the night. In the Premier Division SVK FC were the big moves jumping from third to first with a convincing 3-1 win over LT-FC with Golehya picking up the man of the match for the victors. In Division One, Veli's All Stars stay top on goal difference after a hard fought 3-1 victory against fellow high fliers PSV Imhungova who slip to fourth after the loss. In Division Two, the top two sides took on each other and it was Shakhter Sensless who come out on top beating Crew Love 3-1 with Tom Dent starring for the victors. On Twitter? Leisure Leagues Malvern Monday 5 A Side League

It was another superb night of action in the Leisure Leagues Malvern Monday 5 a side League. The 8 o'clock kick offs saw Champions Ajax Trees Down take on The Banter Bus, and Intomylocal play The Fanatics. Ajax have been in superb form, while The Banter Bus are an improving side. the game started off at a great pace, with chances at both ends. TBB matched their rivals step for step in the opening 10 minutes, and the game was delicately poised. ATD then demonstrated why they are champions by producing an outstanding second half to take the win. they were aided by a Man of the match display from Ben Deacon, who was at the centre of all ATD's good play. Intomylocal took on The Fanatics looking to maintain their position at the top of the table. The Fanatics have found some defensive solidity in recent weeks, and they were frustrating their opponents here. Both teams had good chances, and some excellent goals were scored. in a tense game, only a man of the match performance from Aaron Gilks separated the two teams, as Intomylocal clinched a narrow victory. The 8-30 kick offs were between Real Average and Powick, and Shakhtar Lastnite versus Malvern Mavericks. Real Average v Powick promised to be a good game, and the two teams didn't disappoint. Average seized the advantage early on, helped by a lacklustre beginning from Powick. Powick eventually found their form, and the game developed into a thrilling contest, with chances and goals at both ends. A superb goalkeeping display from Average's Henry Davies was the only differnce between the teams, earning him the Man Of The Match award, and his team a 10-8 victory. The other 8-30 game was another brilliant contest, between Shakhtar Lastnite and Malvern Mavericks. both teams were in need of a win here, and the intensity in the play reflected this. The lead was constantly changing hands, and there was very little to choose between them. Both goalkeepers were tested regularly, and the match looked destined for a draw until, in the last minute, Mavericks were awarded a penalty. It was converted and the Mavericks, including Man Of The Match Martin Reeves, celebrated a win in the closest of games. The 9-00 kick off saw Malvern Mans take on Malvern Classic. Mans have been in fine form this season, while Classic are adjusting to the league and improving game by game. Mans made a strong start and took an early lead, and they threatened to run away with the game, creating numerous chances. Classic responded with great fighting spirit after the break, and began to really test the Mans defence. Only some superb saves from the Mans keeper, Man Of the Match James Robinson, preserved Mans lead, and they held on to claim another win. The final game of the night saw Chamakh My Pitch Up take on Vagisil Utd. Both teams have played some good football so far this season, and this was a hard fought match. Vagisil made their customary strong start, and seemed to have the measure of their opponents in a excellent first half performance. Chamakh settled in the second half and began to come back into the game. Vagisils lead proved too big for Chamakh, and a Man Of The Match performace from Vagisils Toby Boswell, who broke up numerous Chamakh attacks, helped Vagisil to a deserved win.

Southam 6 a side @ leisure leagues

Messi's Illegitimate Children continue to come of age with a 1-0 win over Southam Town and now stand taller than they ever have before, with Brooke Smith and Angus Taylor being the MEN of the match.
The B Team be the team on the move and with that tasty Dean Curry being just that bit too hot they gave the Barearsealona the bums rush in a 5-0 win.
In this close fought game The French Toast Mafia gave The STD'S one for a narrow 1-0 victory and the Mafia's godfather Alex Turley said "this is one opponent where it is far better to give than receive".
The Fifty Shades Of Andy Gray took full advantage when the Knodders FC let it slip and were able to take the 5-0 win. Lets hope the Knodders don't get ribbed for their slip up because I'm sure it'ull leave someone with a bad taste in the mouth.

With the start of the new season Who's Keith carried on just where they had left off with a 9-1 win and left the new 5 Guys On A Fact Hunt that one fact for sure is you do need to know just who you are playing with and what your up against.
99 Problems But The Pitch Ain't One lived up to their name with a 7-1 win over the Mockford Town FC and felt they could certainly live with those sort of problems every week.
Leavemyarsealona and the Average Joes will be putting this one down to experience and will have to sort it out allover again to see who is the one above average.
The Villians had their virgin win of the season robbed right from under their noses by some real old faces from the Real Tiddington chain gang who beat them 7-3.
KD 2010 started the 2013 summer season on the back foot after loosing 4-1 to Polonia UK who started by putting their best foot forward.
Gail Madrid could hardly believe their luck after a 5-0 win against Hardly Athletic and hope this sort of luck could continue throughout the whole season.

Mallards pulled off a 3-2 win over Quims Park Rangers that leaves QPR one point from the top. Neil Ashman again got the MotM for Mallards. Kop Idols managed to smash in 7 against Expected Toulouse with no reply, Liam Young was the stand out player. The Radi-Cause and Sons of Pitches played out a 0-0 draw and Fishy Biff beat Murder On Zidane's Floor 3-1 in the final game of the night with Mike Land taking the plaudits.

The Swadlincote Sunday league got off to a cracker of a start with goals galore. Reigning Champions Next week ran a mock scoring 16 goals past Munchinflap who still managed to score 5 goals. This result sends out a message of intent to all other teams who wish to compete with Next Week for a place at the top of the table. Barcalonas got off to a good start with an 11-9 victory over a hard working Oldboys. Sam wright claimed the MOTM with an excellent performance. There were 5-0 wins for Ace and Lesbians in their respective points matches.

Third place Tekkerslovakia hammered Ashmadrid 6-0 with Watson inspiring the win. The game was close to start with Tekkers only going in at the break 2-0 up. The second half brought another 4 goals to help confirm the win. Docking won this points match comfortably 3-1 with some good attacking play on display. Josh Bradley claimed the MOTM for the winning side putting in a fine performance for his team. This means Docking receive the 5-0 win for their respective points match game which helps consolidate their lead at the top of the table.

CC Allstars regain top spot in Division 1

We start off in Division 1 as the CC Allstars regained top spot as the Jetsetters skidded of the runway and crashed to a 5-4 defeat to newcomers Certified Bunners in the game of the evening. The result has now left this Division open and the title is definitely up for grabs. ADC Mottaz produced a fine display of controlled possession and overcame the Bluebirds who remain mid-table. They are closely followed by Ragtag Rovers who had Gareth Williams in good form helping them to a 3-1 win over Fairwater Allstars, a great team effort from the Rovers as they now plan for their next encounter against the Bluebirds.

The Premier Division got underway with an exciting match up as the Barry Badger Sniffers came away with a 6-4 win over FC Falcons, both teams were missing players and to their credit played out an exciting match, Luke Bowen was the man of the match in this one. Passelona had a comfortable win over a below strength Panthers side who will be disappointed after the previous match victory over Ivory Toast, they will now look to bounce back in their next match and get back on track, the goals Passelona scored may prove important at the end of the season as they look to regain the title.

Finally, the eagerly awaited match saw the Real Tekkers continue their excellent start to the season as they came away with a 2-0 win over Adamsdown Youngstars, the win kept them top of the table and they look like they will be a difficult prospect to knock of the top spot this season.

The Coventry league ran well again like usual with plenty of goals being scored through the night. In the first game of the evening, league leaders Leeroy Jenkins FC took on bottom of the table The Archbishops Of Banterbury. Both teams started brightly and went close to breaking the deadlock early on. The match burst into life midway through the first half with some great team play on the right hand side of the pitch resulting in a cross which was met by Banterburys forward who slotted the ball home. The Archbishops doubled their lead early on with a good counter attack to wrap up the points with a comfortable 2-0 win. Stratford Shooters looked like The Campden Blue Sox had removed their firing pin and the Sox looked as if they might just sox it to em tonight. That was until Nathan Clifford turned into the pin ball wizard to help the Shooters win 9-3.
Toms Allstars started the brightest and led the way well into the second half, until The Mighty Hammers came crashing down on them to beat the shine out of them for a 6-4 win.
The Charlie Victors had the upper hand in the first half only to find the Substandard Liege had made a real fist of it for the second half and punched out an 8-5 win.
The Emile Heskey Wanderers really got stuck Inter U Nan and enjoyed the 7-1 win so much they are looking forward to the two of them meeting up again.

League leaders Quaystone Kops went down 1-0 to a resurgent Fiorentinaturner FC last night and lost the league leaders tag with just three games of the current season left.

Just four points now seperates the top three teams in the 1st Division, with Boughton pushing themselves into contention, after a hard fought 1-0 win over Chester Mess FC.

Danny Atkinson was the star man for Boughton on the night.

Momentum now seems to be gathering with the race for the title at the top and battle for places around the bottom of the league. In our first round, we seen Nationwide Windows take on Rugby XI. Rugby XI managed to get their 6th player at the last minute (again) to honour the fixture and Nationwide seemed to have an air of confidence about them going into this fixture. However, it all seemed routine for Nationwide as they made their way to a 13-1 victory. The match started as it finished really with dominance from Nationwide keeping Rugby camped in their own half. Rugby yet again weren't totally goal shy and managed to find the net once more, as has often been the case in the past. Inevitably, Nationwide's bullish attitude to ensure they worked on their goal difference seemed to come through in their play which was direct at times and capped off with a man of the match performance from Warwick Alexander. At the same time, 2 Left Feet, with points in the bag with a no show from Hardly Athletic, had a challenging encounter against West Haddon. 2 Left Feet, again possibly not at full strength from what they were at the start of the season, displayed enough quality to put chances away when in advanced positions. This game was a tight affair, with even possession and territory in phases. 2 Left Feet again had to concentrate on defensive matters somewhat, as West Haddon possess some pace and quick movement to threaten their opposition. and had to work hard at times. In the end 2 Left Feet were more clinical and with a man of the match performance from Carl Russell, they were able to win the match 4-0. In our second round of fixtures Borussia Munchen Flapjack entertained Beast FC. Plenty of similarities (strengths and weaknesses) with these sides and given Borussia's squad additions and recent form, they may have fancied themselves prior to kick off. As expected this game seen an equal amount of possession. Borussia edged the opening half in terms of possession, with good shape about their team and good passing and movement when attacking. They managed to keep Beast at bay largely with a soft goal being the only action for them. However, Beast have the ability to counter attack quickly when given the opportunity and have players who have pace and can be direct. Given this, along with the individual errors and a concentration lapse at the back, Beast turned the game on it's head and started to dominate, which brought the best out of their players and certainly their man of the match Callum Brotherston. For Borussia, it seems quite clear - their defence is improving, especially with the reliability of their man of the match Ryan Davis, but they lack real fire power up front to stick the ball in the back of the net. If they address this, then Borussia could really start to put some results together. Our final fixture seen Useless FC take on Yoga Bonita. Useless FC didn't show much previous form in their friendly fixture against Borussia (where Borussia earned a well deserved draw) and so going into their league fixture, they needed to liven up. This didn't seem to happen in the early exchanges and Useless continued their below par performance. Yoga really got at Useless, and utlilised their target man well to go for goal or hold the ball up. This proved a very lively game with end to end action. Useless were back tracking a lot more more than they are possibly used to and couldn't retain possession for large periods, which has gained them success in the previous fixtures. A sign of a good team is winning when not playing well, and something which Useless had to keep in mind at half time. Second half seemed a lot more improved, where chances were created, and kept hold of the ball for larger periods of time. Man of the match Coyle stepped it up at this point as Yoga tired and they managed to snatch victory with a 3-1 win. Yoga Bonita did demonstrate why they can cause problems for the opposition with a great man of the match performance from Pold (apologies if I have got the name wrong, but the man of the match details were illegible) and a more comprehensive performance with a full squad.

Still 4 Teams Battling At The Top

The Real Deal served up a title blow to second placed FC Sweat, beating them 2-0 with superb goals from Alex Main and Tyler Loveridge. Sweat stay second despite a 3-0 win from Blue Toon over VC United, with James Sim playing a very unselfish game to pick up the MotM and put him in the lead for Player of the Season. Somerset Lions came from behind to beat AFC Six Offenders 3-2 in a very exciting end to end game from both teams. Ben Killey got MotM in this one. The final game was the most exciting of the night, with Torrwood Galacticos going 4-0 up only to be pegged back to 4-4 before a late winner to make it 5-4 over the Unpredictables. Emlyn Saunders with a hat trick go the MotM.

The 1st game of the night saw Cigarettes & Alcohol beat last seasons winners Not In My Moms Forest by 2 goals to 1. It was a good evenly balanced game with both teams missing chance after chance. Penn Colts won their points match 5-0 in their game and Dougie Ralph in goal for them picked up man of the match for some impressive saves and a long line of save after save. Paradox played a good game but got overcome 6-0 to Midlands All Stars, 2 goals from man of the match Chris Price and two from kyle & tim saw the points go their way. Inter Ya Gran also picked up a 5-0 win in their game with Tom winning the match of the match award.

BAYERN IN SHOCK DEFEAT!!

Bayern lost valuable ground in the race for the title as they went down to a shock 3-2 defeat at the hands of Brookvale FC, who possibly put in their best performance of the season.

Leaders Sankey All Stars made hard work of winning 5-2 against a young but spirited 'Gunna Get Messi' team.

Random All Stars continue to move up the table as they beat a depleted Widnes FC 4-1.

Season 3 Week 3 Match Report

This weeks games saw a very well contested match between the league's top two sides and an entertaining game between Lewes Prison and Multiple Scoregasms.

In the evening's first competitive game Bakers Boys faced FC Leavemyarcealona. The game began with several quick goals from FC Leave as they started in great form. Bakers Boys responded well and the game became a very competitive contest with both sides playing some excellent football and making chances. Bakers got back into the game with a flurry of goals just before half time. The second half continued in the same way with more quality football and further chances made. It was very evenly balanced and a game that could have gone either way was settled by a late winner for FC Leavemyarcealona.

The next game between Lewes Prison and Multiple Scoregasms began with a bright start from both teams each side kept and moved the ball well and both teams had early chances. The second half opened with an early goal from Lewes Prison and gradually they began to get control of the game. Lewes were dominating possession and putting Multiple Scoregasms goal under pressure but MS continued to threaten on the counter attack. Lewes Prison added further goals but MS also grabbed another goal on the break and the game finished with a 6-2 win for Lewes Prison.

New boys Obi One Kenobi Nil shipped 13 in their opening game against Farmborough Bounce, they did manage to score 1, with the final score being 13-1 with Luke White getting MotM. Norfolk 'N' Chance stay top thanks to an Aaron Pritchard inspired 3-1 win over El Galacticos. FC Puma Kings got a vital 4-1 win over Leave-My-Arselona with Lee Handford getting the accolades. In Division 1, Chicken Wanderers went down 1-0 to Dyslexia United with Chris Goulding getting MotM. S.O.P.S. Reunited smashed 7 past PURE with no reply, Darren Scammell again got MotM. Norad FC went above opponents Bayer Neverlusen with a 1-0 win despite Lewis Rich getting the MotM.

Wolfpack Are Closing The Gap

Wolfpack gained a vital win in their title quest with a 2-1 win over Leave-My-Arsealona despite the best efforts of Arse's Matt Harris. The Cobras scraped a 1-0 win over Barking Waffles with Joe Myers again proving to be the difference. Blue Bandits gained a 5-0 default win. Green Army rallied to beat Rooney Toones 4-3 despite the MotM going to Toones Tom Abrahams.

Chindit Rangers Get A Strong Win

Chindit Rangers moved into second in Division 1 after a Matthew Walker inspired 3-1 win over Northfolk Enchance. This was the only official game in DIvision 1 due to teams dropping out again. Leisure Leagues Malvern Monday 5 a side

It was a great night of football in the Leisure Leagues Malvern Monday 5 a side league. The first game of the night was between The Banter Bus and the Fanatics. Both teams have improved this season and this was an excellent contest. The two teams were fully committed but the Banter Bus had the extra quality in front of goal, and a man of the match performance from Kyle Stimson helped them to what turned out to be a resounding victory. Next up was Malvern Mavericks v champions Ajax Trees Down. Mavericks started the game superbly and harried Ajax constantly, allowing them no space or time on the ball. The tactic looked to be paying off as the Mavericks took an early lead. The level of intensity was always going to be difficult to sustain, and as Mavericks tired, ATD began to gain control. Man of the Match George Parsons provided a great link between attack and defence and ATD ran out winners after their early scare. On the other pitch Malvern Classic took on Real Average. Classic are adjusting to life in the league, and they made a great start here, pressing Average high up the pitch and taking an early lead. Average were rattled and as the game entered the halfway stage it was too close to call. As Classic began to tire, Average began to click, helped largely due to a excellent performance by MOTM Jake Paisley. They scored some excellent goals and in the end had too much for their spirited opponents. The next game was between Vagisil Utd and Shakhtar Lastnite. Shakhtar came in to this on the back of a crushing defeat, and looked determined to make amends against tough opponents Vagisil. The game was a highly competitive encounter, with Vagisil seizing control with their greater physicality, coupled with some good finishing. Shakhtar played some good football too as they fought their way back into the game, making Vagisil work for every opportunity. Man of the Match Lee Cowell scored some vital goals for Vagisil, which in the end were the difference between two determined sides. The last game was between Malvern Mans and Chamakh My Pitch Up. Mans were full of confidence after their huge win last week, and started the game brightly here. They have found some form in front of goal in recent games, and this continued here. Chamakh battled their way back into the game and managed to peg Mans back with some good goals of their own, but some clinical finishing from man of the match Dan Robinson ensured Mans lead remained intact until the end.

Both Tekkerslovakia and Midlanders won their points matches 5-0 with man of the match performances from Mike Baker and Andy Leek in their retrospective match. The 3rd game of the night saw Ash Madrid go down to So Solid Poodles by 2 goals to 0. It was a very evenly balanced game with Zak padmore in the So Solid goal winning the man of the match award for his saves and a penalty save near the end of the game which was pushed out from Tonksy's penalty kick. In the final game of the night Dynamo thrashed Six On Fire 11-1 with most goals coming from Steven Hemming or Josh, whose link up play between the 2 was too much for Six On Fire to deal with. Josh and Tommo also hit the woodwork for Dynamo but Springy scored a consolation goal near the end of the game to make it 10-1 but Hemmings scored a solo effort with seconds remaining to make it 11-1.

A great night of football again in Burton on Trent with some superb football being played through the night. In the Premier Division, Yager Bombers are the new league leaders after a hard fought 3-1 win over Lat-Pro FC with Callum Riddell picking up the man of the match for the victors. Kay FC are now second in the table after a narrow 5-3 victory against SVK FC who slip to third in the division. Elsewhere BSDC beat FC Keego 5-0 and LT-FC put five past their opponents without reply. In Division One, Veli's All Stars stay top of the pile after a 5-3 win over Bad Boys. Fake Madrid kept the pressure up on the leaders with a 4-3 victory over Ford Iniesta. In other games, FC Amigo went down 4-3 to PSV Imhungova and Moderately Athletic hammered their opponents 5-0. In Division Two, Shakter Sensless made it three wins out of three this season with a convincing 12-1 win against Bayern Neverlusen, who remain rooted to the foot of the table. The penultimate week of the league in both divisions saw a number of shock defeats for the league leaders.

In the Premier league, Liverrule FC lost 0-2 against the Bombers, but second placed Fitz Stars also slipped up losing 2-1 against Chester Pirates!!

In the 1st Division, runaway leaders Tarporley Lions suffered a rare defeat at the hands of a re-surgent Norfolk.

All makes for an interesting final week of the season next Sunday.

Southam 6 a side @ leisure leagues

Messi's Illegitimate Children held their own tonight and pleased themselves with a 1-1 draw against The Southam Town Dads and that's got to be one of the safest things to do when the STD'S are out in full force.
Southam Town became the games A team and closed the gap on the B Team with an all important 1-0 win.
The Knodders continue to show their worth and after plenty of dribbling and shooting they did their job and kept a clean a clean sheet. They beat The French Toast Mafia 1-0 and stopped them coming above them in the table.Thank you to French Toast Mafia for retrieving the balls.
After a 5-0 points match win Barearsealona stay close behind and continue to look to see if any cracks are starting to appear.

Stratford Sunday 5-a-side at Leisure Leagues

With two sides aiming to go out with a bang it was the Hot 5hots who hit the target with a 1-0 win against TNT. With second place already in the bag it may have dampened the TNT a bit and stopped them from going out in their usual explosive fashion.
The Glory Boys threw away the third place medals and the studious KES 5 taught them a few lessons in how to win 8-0.
Who's Keith continue to show just who's who with another league win and a 7-2 win against KD 2010.
Polonia UK got to fly their flag with the third place medals and a 3-1 win against the problematic 99 Problems.
Hardly Athletic ran away the 5-2 winners and robbed the renamed Vilians of their first plunder.
Mockford Town FC rounded off the season with a 5-2 win against Gail Madrid and hope to continue the winning form into the new season.

Sons of Pitches beat Expected Toulouse 6-0 with a Kelvin Chivers MotM and Quims Park Rangers beat The Radi-Cause 1-0 with James (???) being the stand out player in order to keep both teams locked at the top of the league. Mallards got a huge win over rivals Fishy Biff, eventually winning 4-3 with Mark Plummer proving to be the difference. Kop Idols smashed 4 past Murder On Zidane's Floor with no reply to stay 3rd thanks to Ross Presley.

A good evening of football in Coventry with all games running really well like usual. In the first match top of the table G Team took on fifth placed Transao FC and with only a point separating the two sides a close encounter was predicted. Transao started the brightest and raced into a 2-0 just before half time. G Team stepped it up a gear in the second half and were unlucky not to of pulled a goal back early on had it not been for a great save from the Transao goalkeeper. Man of the match Alencar scored another two goals for his side with Transao running out comfortable 4-0 victors. In the only other game of the night Wonga FC who were looking to build on last weeks draw took on Leeroy Jenkins FC who were looking for a good result to move up the table. Jenkins started well with some good passes being played round the pitch and deservedly found themselves 1-0 up after a howler from Wongas keeper. Wonga pushed on looking for the equaliser and were made to pay with a superb 20 yard strike by man of the match Adam Waters which all but wrapped up the points for Jenkins. The game wasn’t over yet though and there was still time for one more goal to give Leeroy Jenkins an easy 3-0 victory and thus put them top of the table for the first time this season. An action packed night of 6 aside football began in Burton with all teams turning up like normal. In the first game of the night Ajax who were stuck in the middle of the league on goal difference played third placed Breast Homage Albion. These two sides had never met before and started out as a fast paced end to end game. Breast Homage seemed to take charge of the game until a quick counter saw Ajax take a shock lead. The lead didn't last long as Breast Homage slotted home an equaliser just before half time. Breast Homage went onto dominate the second half until out of nowhere Insley scored a cracking volley for Ajax to win them the game 2-1. Due to this win Ajax now on six points leaped over Breast Homage in the league. There was a top of the table clash in the second match as leaders Scoregasm took on second placed Phallus, both teams have had a great campaign and this game looked to be a great one. Through the first half both teams showed why they were doing so well in the league as both had created chances to score. The deadline was finally broke as Waytie hammered in the goal to take Scoregasm 1-0 up at halftime. Scoregasm continued where they left off by scoring early in the second half which seemed to kill off the game. Scoregasm carried on their undefeated campaign and won 2-0, does any team have what it takes to defeat them this season? Elsewhere Brownbrigg picked up a consectutive win by defeating league strugglers 6 amigos 4-0 with Nick James acting as the engine for the winning side and picking up two goals. After this we went onto the Premier Division where top of the league FCUK took all the points in their respective points match and remained top of the league. Baltica then continued their chase for the title with a 3-2 win over Badger who sit just below Baltica at 3rd place in the league thanks to Myndes superb finish for the winning side. As the night went on Vicious and Delicious picked up valuable points by defeating Boderz 2-0 with Connor Ellis having a massive impact on the game and creating both goals. and jumping over them to 5th place with Boderz dropping down to 6th. The night ended with BSDC playing some fine football and setting up Sam Bowering for a stunning goal and beating league strugglers BAC 2-1. Pajero Go Top With Fine Win

Pajero FC are riding high at the top of the PORTISHEAD 6-a-side League after a highly impressive 3-0 defeat of previous leaders 07 Rocks, with Ethan Cowdrey Man of The Match. Reigning Champions Portishead Parsnips returned to winning ways with a narrow 1-0 defeat of Heston Blumenfaulks, with Rob Orton in fine form, while Clevedon Crusaders inflicted a 9-0 defeat on bottom-placed JON. The Premier league is highly competitive this season, with just 3 points separating the 6 teams after the first 3 games.

In Division One, LOL Cats remain undefeated after a 3-1 defeat of The Gentlemen´s Club, while 2nd-placed The Badgers found themselves on the wrong end of a 4-1 drubbing by TL Galaxy. In the other match, Multiple Scoregasms benefitted from a 5-0 default win.

SAFE HANDS DON'T DROP POINTS

The Mighty Hammers made it a close encounter of the third kind as they moved up a place from third to second with a 3-1 win over Stratford Shooters. This leaves the top three only separated on goal difference.
The Charlie Victors invited themselves to the party with a 3-2 win against Toms Allstars and with their best start to any season they remain third. The Charlies hope not to end up playing musical chairs as they are enjoying just where there sitting right now.
As the Dynamo runs out the newly named Inter U Nan had their closest game to date and a chance of at least a point looked a real possibility. The Campden Blue Sox had other ideas and showing little respect for their elders told Nan to go and get knitted and went on to take the 6-5 win.
Substandard Liege are still knocking on the door after their 6-4 win against the Emile Heskey Wanderers. This win rounded off the night in typical fashion when any of the games could have gone either way.
In every game it was a case of jeepers creepers where'd ya get those keepers, as all the man of the matches went to a goal keepers.

If it seemed as if one team was racing towards the title, or the top three teams were set in stone... then think again. The set of fixtures this week really has blown the table wide apart at the top.In our first round, we seen Useless FC take on Rugby XI. Rugby XI managed to get their 6th player at the last minute to honour the fixture and Useless seemed to have one eye on the events unfolding on the other pitch with 2 Left Feet. However, it all seemed routine for Useless as they made their way to a 12-0 victory. Initial solid defence and resolve from Rugby XI caught Useless by surprise and they were unable to finish off chances quickly. That combined with some composed play and vision from Rugby XI's seasoned campaigner, gave Rugby a threat which Useless had to make sure they quashed. Inevitably, Useless had the passing and movement to ensure that a professional job was done in this fixture and assisted in gaining on their goal difference. At the same time, 2 Left Feet had a tough encounter with Nationwide Windows. 2 Left Feet seemed to be missing the odd player or two, and Nationwide would have been bouyed by having skipper Ryan back in their ranks. This game was a tight affair, with the goalkeepers both being tested and playing superbly to keep a clean sheet in the early exchanges to frustrate the opposition - the goalies had a huge impact in this game. 2 Left Feet concentrated a lot more on defensive matters than usual and had to work hard at times. Nationwide were able to soak up pressure and move the ball up field efficiently to catch 2 Left Feet off guard. 2 Left Feet aren't in the position in the league themselves without the ability to counter attack and move off the ball well. There were periods that 2 Left Feet demonstrated this an were able to create goalscoring chances themselves. Nationwide either had the improving communication and defensive duties or their goalie was in inspired form to block out 2 Left Feet when they threatened. The game ended 2-0 to Nationwide Windows. This has prevented Nationwide's 3rd place spot being under threat this week but not only that they have managed to reduce the gap between them and second spot. Given 2 Left Feet's consistency in the league to date, this will be a minor blip which they have the ability to bounce right back from, although they do slip a place to second in the league. Will this result prove costly? It's becoming tight at the top, but there's plenty of football to be played still this season. In our second round of fixtures Borussia Munchen Flapjack entertained Yoga Bonita, which on previous form, was difficult to predict. Yoga went into the match confident from their solid win the previous week (although their squad depleted and missing key players), and Borussia have been improving consistently and they know that 'W' is just round the corner. Largely, Borussia controlled this game. They had a better shape and width about them and spread the ball round well at times to find gaps. Yoga lacked organisation the organisation they have previously shown, however they did possess strength on the ball to move forward into shooting positions. Yoga would have liked to soak up the pressure and move the ball into advanced positions quickly (as has served them so well recently), but with their target man not available and Borussia's tactic of keeping a solid line at the back to marshall, Yoga seemed unable to take advantage of their usual tactics. It all looked positive for Borussia even in the latter stages, with a more efficient looking side, improved communication and greater work ethic. However football can be cruel... eventually Yoga not only dragged themselves back into the match but were able to snatch the victory late doors to produce a result which even skipper Lukasz admitted after the match was extremely lucky. A further lesson to be learnt for Borussia, that despite controlling the game for large periods, all it takes is a lapse of concentration when players are tiring, silly individual errors to lose possession and all their hard work can become undone. They possibly know how Coventry City's back line now feel!! Our final fixture should have seen Hardly Athletic take on Beast FC, but with Hardly's absence West Haddon stepped in to take on Beast. This proved a very lively game with end to end action. With the pace within their squad, West Haddon were able to move into advanced areas quickly. At the same time, Beast FC with their improving record in the league, shown why they can score goals (to lift them within spitting distance of that third spot), with good counter attacking play often having a couple of options for the advancing player on the ball. Both sides clearly have an eye for goal, but if they want to advance further, they must start ensuring they have a greater presence at the back to prevent conceding (especially in the final 10 minutes of the match). Beast have now really set themselves up for the final push in this league as the top 3 position is very much up for grabs for them if they can keep their consistency going in the league. For West Haddon, another good exercise for them where they have demonstrated that they will prove tough opposition in this league when they start the new season with good technical ability on the ball and an eye for goal.

Very Close Getting To The End Of The Season

The Real Deal are still top of the league after a 5-2 win over AFC Six Offenders despite some good play from the Offenders. Alex Main with a hat trick for the Deal secured MotM. FC Sweat were made to sweat against new team Unpredictables, eventually winning 3-2 with Matt Creagh getting MotM. VC United again didn't make an appearance so Somerset Lions got a 5-0 win. Blue Toon kept the pressure on with a 4-0 drubbing of Torrwood Galacticos who lacked their normal high tempo. James Sim again got MotM.

Bayern Neverlosing Stutter Against Tor!

Team on Tor managed a great point against title challengers Bayern Neverlosing this week. The final score was 0-0 with Harry Higgins making some fine saves throughout. MMFA carried on their unbeaten run, edging past Butleigh Dynamos 1-0 with Rob Stephens getting MotM. Boys of Somer and Leave-My-Arse-Alona played out a 2-2 draw with Cam Richards being the star man. In Division 1, no official league games were played due to teams having other commitments, Roque Santa Coombes, Real Ale Madrid and Chindit Rangers all took home 5-0 default wins.

Cobras Tear Toones Apart!

The big game in the league saw The Cobras regain top spot by smashing 7 past Rooney Toones with no reply. Toby Corner got his second MotM in 2 weeks in this league! Wolfpack picked up a vital win against Blue Bandits, 3-0 was the score with Luke Weatherall in fine form. FC Leave-My-Arsealona picked up their first win, 2-1 against Green Army with Ross Tucker proving to be the difference. Due to the league being one team short currently, Barking Waffles picked up a 5-0 win to put them up to 5th.

Farmborough Bounce managed to win 8-1 against El Galacticos to keep them in with a shout near the top of the league. Darren Curtis was the MotM. Peasedowns Finest again didn't turn up so Leave-My-Arse-Alona won 5-0 by default. Peasedown have now been removed from the league. Norfolk 'N' Chance remain top with a 1-0 win over FC Puma Kings in a controversial game with the stand-out player being Matt Spencer.

In Division 1, Chicken Wanderers kept up their good run, winning 7-1 over Bayer Neverlusen with Joe Tanner in fine form. PURE lost 7-0 to Norad FC with MotM going to Joe Rogers. In the final game, S.O.P.S Reunited beat new boys Dyslexia United 3-0 with Kelvin Chivers gaining the MotM.

A great evening of football in Willenhall with all games running really well like usual. In the first game of the night, league leaders Boca Seniors took on fifth placed Midland Musketeers. In a nervy affair there was no separating the two sides in the first half with both teams guilty of missing good chances. In the second period it was Boca who took the lead through a great strike by Allan. The same player soon doubled the lead for his side with some great team play through the centre of the park. Musketeers hit back though a counter attack to give them hope of getting something from the game. It was man of the match Allan who wrapped things up though scoring a memorable FIVE goals to help Boca to a comfortable 5-2 victory. In the second game of the night, Inferno played host to Unathletico Madrid. Inferno dominated the match from start to finish, eventually running out comfortable 5-0 winners. The result lifted Inferno to fifth in the table after Midland Musketeers defeat earlier on in the evening. Elsewhere their were wins for Poets Warriors and M.C.F in their respective matches. An action packed night of football in Willenhall with all teams in full attendance like usual. In the first game of the evening Unathletico Madrid, who were top of the table on goal difference took on second placed Boca Seniors. In the reverse fixture earlier on in the season it was Boca who took the points with a narrow 2-1 victory. Madrid were out for revenge and started well with a couple of good saves from Boca goalkeeper Dumaz. The deadlock was finally broken midway through the first half with a great counter attack by Boca resulting in a neat finish. The lead didn’t last long though as Madrid hit back with a good finish from just outside the area. Early in the second half Allan broke free from his marker to curl a left footed effort into the far corner to restore Boca’s advantage. After the goal Madrid stepped it up a gear and peppered Seniors goal. With only thirty seconds of the match left Dumaz pulled off one of the saves of the season diving low to his right to ensure his side take the spoils and move two points clear at the top of the division with only five games of the season remaining. In the second match, mid table Poets Warriors took on the inform Inferno. Warriors who have been struggling of late were in need of a win to ensure they don’t fall any further behind the leading pack. Inferno on the other hand had three wins out of three and a win tonight would move them two points clear of the relegation zone. The match started brightly with both teams having chances early on. It was Inferno that opened the scoring just before the break with a great assist from man of the match Matt Petchey. In the second half Poets pushed on and got the equaliser with a long range effort. The match finished all square with both teams more than happy with a point. Elsewhere title contenders M.C.F played host to Midlands Musketeers. With only two points separating the sides a close match was predicted but this wasn’t the case. M.C.F dominated from start to finish and were 5-0 up at half time. M.C.F continued were they left off in the second half with Ryan Walker running the show and helping his side to a convincing 9-0 win. The Coseley league had some exciting games on display. Midlands smashed new boys Penne 8-0 With Price having a cracker of a game. New boys Cigarettes player Stokes helped his side to a 5-2 victory over Bsides. Paradox were unlucky in just missing out on the share of the points with Forest, losing 3- 2 thanks to Mitchell.

Season 3 Week 2 Match Report

The second week of our new season saw some more entertaining and high scoring games.

In the first game of the night FC Leavemyarcealona played Multiple Scoregasms. The game started very evenly both teams moved the ball around well and clear cut chances were at a premium. FC Leave eventually opened the scoring and then put further pressure on their opponents. In the second half there was further sustained pressure from FC Leavemyarcealona with Multiple Scoregasms looking to hit back on the break. But in the end the pressure told and FC Leave grabbed a number of additional goals to run out 6-1 winners.

The week's second game was between The Grillers and Lewes Prison. This game started brightly with some excellent football being played and a number of good chances created. Early on Lewes Prison created some good pressure but The Grillers responded well and the game swung back one way and then the other. Both keepers had to make some good saves and although Lewes Prison gradually got more on top they were never really comfortable. The game could have probably gone either way but in the end Lewes Prison were able to claim the win and the points.

Game three saw Woolpack FC take on Bakers Boys. This was a really entertaining game it started at a terrific pace with Bakers Boys getting hold of the ball, keeping possession and passing it really well and Woolpack responding with some great defending and hard graft. But Woolpack FC were a real threat on the break and looked very dangerous going forward. From one of these counter attacks they scored a deserved goal. Bakers Boys continued to press and create chances of their own and scored a couple of superb goals including one on the turn and volley. They kept playing some quality football but Woolpack as always worked very hard to deny them and ensure the final 4-1 score was a respectable one.

The night began with Leave Ma winning again against newcomers Drum and Monkey 3-1 despite Andy Smiths great goalkeeping performance for the new side. Massive then took all the points as Wortho got a hatrick beating Teeth 3-0. The night then ended with Unreal Madrid running away as winners against Norfolk 4-1 with Mini being the engine for Unreal.

The French Toast Mafia laid it it on a bit thick as they toasted Messi's Illegitimate Children 6-0 but the spread would have been thicker had it not been for the far from messi defending of Ben Mckeown, Callum Stanley and Jeremy Virr.
The Southam Town Dads got A 2-0 win against The B Team and we wait to C who's D best team at D end of D season. It was said a certain striker couldn't even score even if he was in a brothel, just as well because he's remaining one of those unnamed STD'S.
Knodders FC did their job well as they got stuck into the Barearsealona. The Knodders 4-0 win will have them blowing a few up as they party tonight as they keep themselves the firm favorites.
The 5-0 win had Southam Town feeling top of the town as they play leapfrog with the Children.

99 Problems had problems getting there, Hardly Athletic hardly had any players so Who's Keith went head to head with Polonia UK for their respective points matches. The 5-0 wins were a cert but there is always that little matter of pride and it was Who's Keith who brought the bread home to mum.
KD2010 did the maths to double up on KES 5 and beat them 4-2. KD can now count (believe or not and some may need a little help) on not being caught and can finish no lower than fifth in the league.
The Hot 5hots fired themselves into contention of a top half finish with the 5-0 win, but the not so glorious Glory Boys may have just blown the chance of the third place medals.
TNT blew Gail Madrid away with a 7-2 win in the end, but the win was far from a breeze for TNT.
Mockford Town FC weren't about to be mocked by The Monkey Boys but with score at 2-2 they couldn't make a monkey out of them either.

By just ONE goal, Hardly Athletic find themselves top of the Northwich six a side league, but with six other teams breathing right down their necks...

This is one of the closest run title races for years with nearly every team closely matched.

The title run in is sure to have a number of twists and turns as the season progresses.
