The Cobras won the big showdown at the top of the Shepton Mallet 6-a-side league, defeating close rivals Lusitanos 3-1. Cobras dominated the 1st half, racing into a 3-goal lead before Lusitanos dominated possession in a 2nd period in which Cobras´ Max Culpinn marshalled his defensive unit in outstanding fashion.
Substandard Liege are not out of the running for the title after a default 5-0 win against non-attendees Creatures, who will be replaced next week by new team Blue Bandits.
Barking Waffles remain in 4th after Daniel Cannings inspired them to a 2-0 defeat of a lacklustre BTFC, who have been removed from the league after constant disciplinary issues.
In the night´s other match, Playa den Bossa edged a 1-0 win against Kamikaze Crunchers, with Playa´s Mark Wareham earning the plaudits for an energetic all-round display.
