Some stunning victories again in the Nuneaton 5 a side league, but non bigger than Nuneaton Athletics’ 19-6 hammering of Blasted United. Elsewhere there were no fewer than three teams who scored 10 goals, The Blues beating Nuneaton Titans 10-3 while the same score was good enough for Magic Mushrooms to beat Las Vegas. Toy Soldiers are still a point clear at the top of the pile after crushing Raggy Rovers 10-1.
By contrast it was tighter in the Nuneaton Etone Sunday league, Fizzy Vimtos were one of two mid-table teams to win 1-0, beating Inter in a game where Scott Parsons starred, while AC Phaast were the other as they saw off Fiorentina Turner. The Underdogs stay a point clear after their 2-0 victory against rock bottom Ellis Clan, but only after Liam Uff found his best form. Not many goals around in division one either, although Walmart Warriors were grateful to Mark Brown as they beat Bayer Neverlusen to stay top. Flaven’s Misfits saw off Team Peace by the odd goal in three, while Rick Gregory provided the cure for Hangovers to beat The Fox by the same margin.
Hill Top are still bottom of the Etone Tuesday 6 a side league after losing 3-0 to Mongolian Yurts despite the best efforts of Nick Wardle. Angry Arrons Army drop back into mid-table after losing 2-0 to Team T3, with NCYP staying top of the table after seeing off Attleborough United 4-1. There was another 4-1 in division one as Deportivo stayed in the title race with a tasty win over The Smithy Farm Shop but elsewhere things were tighter as Dirty Thirties and Hammers just edged GRFC and Genes Genies respectively.
Locums Excite got the new season in the Thursday 5 a side league off to a fine start and beat Dele Adebola’s Bad Boiz 6-4.
Matt Richardson starred in the triumph with Lee Wallace doing likewise as Eindhoven saw off Funky Town 5-3.
