New Season: Game 1: The Master Debaters 6 - 9 Ticklers

The Master Debaters pushed the previous season’s champions all the way in the opening game of the new season, and were unfortunate not to get anything out of the well contested game. Alex Wilson, from Cnau’r Ci, was drafted in at the last minute as Ollie Burton was unable to play, which turned out to be an excellent replacement as he battled well and got on the score sheet. But it was Dai Thomas who surprisingly took centre stage with several well taken goals, including a great left footed half volley! The Ticklers managed to edge past in the end though, despite Joey Roscoe’s heroics in goal, as their experience made the difference.

Game 2: The Master Debaters 7 – 10 Goat..

With Dai Thomas injured for a couple of month with his dodgy ankles, Ollie Burton having work commitments and Ben Hicks ill, Martin Owen from Ticklers and Jonathan James came in to boost the depleted squad. Despite taking the lead, The Master Debaters found themselves several goals behind at the half and nearly a man down, as Rhodri Williams had his own back after being fouled a few minutes earlier. They did, however, bravely fight back to within a couple of goals, but the opposing goalkeeper pulled off a sting of fine saves to seal the win for Goat.

Game 5: The Master Debaters 16 – 4 Boncath

The Master Debaters returned to the Crymych 5 a side league after two weeks off because of Llanboidy’s first team fixtures to record their first win of the new season. With only Rhodri Williams and Luke Davies available from the original squad, 4 players had to be drafted in from Goat, Ticklers and Cnau’r Ci. Every player got on the score sheet to destroy Boncath, even Rhodri Williams, who had played in goal for the first half!

Game 6: The Master Debaters 8 – 5 Skills That Kills Returns

A dominant display by The Master Debaters earnt them their second successive win of the new season, which should have been by a few more goals had Luke Davies or Dai Thomas managed to hit the target instead of blasting every shot they had!! Emyr Rees did well at the back on his debut with a range of good passing while Rory Spiers thankfully replaced the injured Alex Wilson for the last 5 minutes.
