HAVERFORDWEST SUNDAY

ball allowed over head height

Unfortunately the Haverfordwest Sunday 6 a side league was cancelled on Sunday 29th January due to a waterlogged pitch. We contacted every team captain to confirm this, and the league will return as normal on Sunday 5th February 2012. The cancelled fixtures have been pushed back to the end of the season.

Reminder to All Teams: Please can you arrive 5-10 minutes before your kick off time to allow for a smooth turn over of games, and to ensure that all teams get their full game time.

Although the league remains full, we are always looking for new teams to join the waiting list for the Haverfordwest Sunday 6-a-side league. Any teams who wish to join the Haverfordwest league should complete an entry form by clicking on the link above. Once we receive your completed entry form we will be in contact to let you know that it has arrived safely, and to discuss the next step.

If teams have any queries regarding the league then please feel free to contact us at head office on  0845 230 2340 or via e-mail at info@leisureleagues.net and we will be happy to help.

The Winning Team From Last Year - Uxbridge

The National Tournament Is Coming!
The National 6 a side Football Championships is set for July 7th and will again be held at the Witton Pavilion in Birmingham. And entry is FREE to all teams who finish in the top of a Leisure Leagues division, with massive savings on offer to any Leisure Leagues teams.

Last years event attracted nearly 300 teams and was won by a team from Uxbridge in Middlesex, who beat a team from Cannock 1-0 in the final and scooped a holiday to the Algarve.

“The tournament just keeps growing,” said Lee. “We started it a few years ago and there were less than a hundred teams involved, but then word got around and it has grown to the extent that teams tell us it is the highlight of their sporting year.”

Lee also confirmed that it would be another record breaking day in tournament history as over 400 teams were expected to pit their wits against each other this year, “We have had many, many entrants already,” he explained.” We have given teams the chance to enter a lot earlier this time round and that has proved a very popular decision.”

A holiday for the whole team remains the prize, with Lee adding “this is the most prestigious event of its type in the world, and as such, it deserved a prize to match, and we are delighted to say we have secured that.”

This year marks the second year that the National 6 a side Championships have been held at the Birmingham venue – which lies in the shadow of the world famous Villa Park, home of Aston Villa and is less than five minutes from the UK motorway network – and Lee admitted that he would be working flat-out to make the day even better.

“We have a number of things that we learnt last year, and this year we will be making a number of logistical changes, such as moving the position of the marquee where teams register, hiring big screens and so on, to make things go even smoother.

Teams can head to www.national-tournament.com to enter now.
