It was a good start to the new season in the Cannock and Hednesford Sunday 6 a side league this week, with all teams in attendance throughout the night as scheduled, and some well competed matches played for the season opener.
In what was arguably the most thrilling encounter of the night, What Divock defeated 01543 FC with a score of 4-2. This victory has set an encouragingly strong pace for What Divock, leaving their fans hopeful for the rest of the season.
However, the highest-scoring match of the night was between The Monks Crow-Knees and Bar Snort FC. Bar Snort FC ran rampant against The Monks Crow-Knees, resulting in a resounding 7-1 victory, making them the team to watch this season.
In an evenly contested match, Still Haven't Got One Yet and FUB FC drew 4-4. Each team showed great resilience and promise, hinting at their potential for the matches to come.
Meanwhile, Hednesford U5s found themselves facing a formidable opponent in Glass On Grass, who dominated the field snagging a 7-1 win. This victory sets an impressive precedent for Glass On Grass, and puts them amongst the top scorers in the division along with Bar Snort FC.
Good luck to all teams going into game week 2 of the season with Cannock and Hednesford's premier providers of small sided football!
