In the latest round of Burntwood Monday's 6-a-side football league, there was a thrilling display of talent, tenacity, and top-notch football as teams across five divisions battled it out under the floodlights. With just two weeks left in the season, every match counts as teams aim to secure their place for the next season.
In the Premier League, Bunch Of Scruffs solidified their dominance with a convincing 4-1 victory over Toe Poke Mafia, while Burntwood FC beat Dank FC 3-1. Will they secure another trophy for their cabinet!? Meanwhile, a thrilling encounter between The CTL Elite and Sheffield Monday ended in a 1-1 draw, while RAWNSLEY RANGERS were on the wrong end of a 7-2 thrashing by Scrambled Legs.
Division 1 saw Victor Moses Garden comfortably overcome Stinky Parton FC 9-2, while Stroke Tity FC edged out The Grillbillies with a 3-0 win. Norton FC blew away Patty Freaks FC 8-0, and then we have our Match of the Day… It saw 6 goals as Basic FC and Harriers battled but eventually shared the points in a 3-3 draw.
Division 2 had a tight match between Whopper Walsh and Diddys Dribblers, with the latter securing a 2-1 victory. Great to see them moving off the foot of the table! Kepa Clean Sheet managed a narrow 2-1 win over Soup King FC, while PSV Hangover lost 0-1 to Donny On Da Beek. A crucial win for them in their promotion push!
Over in Division 3, FCDapperGirls dominated Barely Athletic with a 3-0 victory. Queen Park Strangers eked out a 1-0 win over Davos Diddy Party, and Broadfield FC overwhelmed Pro Clubs Irl 5-1. Trooper FC secured a hard-fought 5-3 victory over Class On Grass. Nobody can see what way this’ll go, albeit despite Broadfield being firmly in the driving seat!
Finally, in Division 5, Hills Army clinched a 3-1 victory over Dahlmer FC. Are they going to be the ones to set Burntwood Monday alight!?
With such intense competition, it was no surprise that the list of top scorers for each division was equally impressive, and they'll be looking to add to their tallies in the crucial closing stages of the season.
