Season Kickoff Sees Exciting First Week of Burntwood Monday 6-A-Side Football League
The eagerly anticipated Burntwood Monday 6-a-side Football league has officially begun yet again - producing thrills, spills, and nail-biting finishes right out of the gate. The first week of the season saw dramatic sportsmanship across three divisions: Premier League, Division 1, and Division 2.
In the Premier League, Bunch Of Scruffs set the tone with a commanding 12-0 victory over FC Pintalona. Their high-scoring game sets a clear message for the rest of the season, decimating the new lads. Sheffield Monday also made a strong start, overpowering SPECCY WANDERERS with a 7-1 triumph. The Grillbillies and Norton FC, however, remained evenly matched with a 0-0 draw, promising a fierce competition in the coming weeks. A real eyebrow raiser as these are so rare!
Division 1 opened with equally competitive matches. Monday Warriors fell 3-1 to Donny On Da Beek, while RAWNSLEY RANGERS managed to secure a 3-1 win against Harriers. 2 teams who’ve hit the ground running! FCDapperGirls and Karius To Glory shared the spoils in a goalless draw, while Patty Freaks FC bested McGinn N Tonic in a 4-1 victory.
In Division 2, Barely Athletic scraped a narrow 1-0 win against Trooper FC. We then slide into our inaugural Match of the Day which featured 5 great goals last night! New lads Six Offenders claimed a 3-2 victory over Basic FC in a closely fought contest. Outstanding! In other news, Queen Park Strangers shut out Pro Clubs Irl 2-0, while PSV Hangover edged out Diddys Dribblers 3-2. Kepa Clean Sheet, however, made a bold statement with a 7-2 win against Dribble Fc.
