Sunday 6th July - Nuneaton Academy Round-Up

It was a good start to the new season in the Nuneaton Sunday 6 a side league this week overall, with all teams in attendance for their matches throughout the night, the only exception being Dirty Burt's Army who we have now removed from the league.

We welcome new team Backshot FC to the league as a replacement for the above, wishing these good luck heading into their first fixture on Sunday 13th July.

In the Premier League, THE ALLIES FC came out strong, defeating 2 Goals 1 Cup 5-2. EEFC also showed tremendous form by clinching a 2-0 victory over Ligmatip. It was an impressive start for both teams, setting a high bar for the season ahead.

The Division 1 games were equally intense. Hardly Athletic managed to edge past Age Doesnt Mateta in a thrilling 4-3 encounter. Atherstone Town FC made a significant statement by thrashing Challenged FC 5-0, while Barely Athletic secured a comfortable victory over Borussia Teeth with a 4-1 scoreline.

In Division 2, the match between Rubbergently and Extra Special Ones ended in a goalless draw. Notably, HighAndWideFC outplayed Puyol Pants Down with a 3-1 victory, and Misfits demonstrated a strong performance by defeating Pepe Pig 3-0.

The Division 3 matches did not disappoint either. Tuffnells FC and Andy FC both secured narrow 2-1 victories against Rainbow Sparkles and Ricky Spanish FC respectively. Salah-vation Army, however, stole the spotlight with a decisive 4-1 win against Royal Mail-drid.
