The Wolverhampton Monday 6-a-side Football league kicked off its season last night with some electrifying matches in the Premier League and Division 1.

Unfortunately, there was an incident on the night during the game between AFC Youngboysz and Spekals FC, where a player from AFC Youngboysz was sent from the field of play for violent conduct and has been fined and permanently banned accordingly for his actions. These incidents will be dealt with swiftly every time they happen by our Area Manager to make sure the league is a safe place to be for all the teams and staff. 

We did have a non-attendance on the night, Wasted Talent FC were not present for their game and we will be in contact with them this week in order to confirm their return for next Monday. It is paramount all teams are present for their fixtures in order for the league to run as smoothly as possible each week, if there are any problems please be sure to contact your area manager in plenty of time.

Starting with the top-flight Premier League, Cosford Kittens made a strong statement in their opening game, defeating Black Country Rovers 3-0. In another exciting match-up, Potters House Church overcame KFC W1mbledon with an impressive scoreline of 4-2. This game showcased some high-quality football from both sides but the Potters proved to be the more dominant side. The third game of the Premier League saw Spekals FC narrowingly losing to AFC Young Boysz 1-0. The latter team showed great resilience and will be a tough side to beat this season.

In Division 1, the football action was equally intense. There were impressive performances at both ends of the table, with teams looking to build momentum and others desperate to bounce back. With results capable of changing the picture from week to week, the pressure is beginning to build as every point becomes increasingly valuable.

The opening week of the Wolverhampton Monday 6-a-side Football League has set the tone for an exciting season. It will be interesting to see if the top scorers can maintain their form and help their teams to secure the top spots in their respective divisions.
