Thrilling Week 5 Match-ups Bring Surprises in the Sedgley Monday Football League

As the football season draws to close for leagues at the weekend, the Sedgley Monday 5-a-side Football League continues to serve up thrilling and dramatic matches. The energy was palpable in week 5, with exciting results in both the Premier League and Division 1.

Unfortnately we did have an incident on the night as there was a sending off in the game between La Masala and Munchen Phatbach FC. A player from Munchen Phatbach FC was sent from the field of play for being abusive to the referee, the play in question has now been banned for 2 weeks and fined £20 for his actions. It is important that all players stay within the rules of the league at all times when playing and each time something like this happens it will be dealt with swiftly and accordingly each and every time.

In more positive news, in the Premier League, the night was filled with intense competition and breath-taking performances. Woefulhampton Wanderers FC and Goal Diggers faced off in a game that kept spectators on edge, ultimately ending with Woefulhampton Wanderers FC claiming victory with a score of 4-3. Meanwhile, SH Dons and Diddys Dream served up a spectacular show, with SH Dons narrowly edging out with a 6-5 win. Munchen Phatbach FC clashed with La Masala in a tightly contested match, with La Masala emerging victorious with a 2-1 score.

Not to be outdone, Division 1 saw its share of action as well. Borussia Dormston found themselves at the receiving end of a 5-0 defeat at the hands of Ketamingolet. The Old Tigers also fell short in their encounter with Out On Bale, ending with a 3-1 loss.

As the Sedgley Monday league moves into its sixth week, the excitement only continues to grow. With top scorers maintaining their form, and teams vying for dominance, fans can look forward to more thrilling football action in the weeks to come.

The league is now OFF for Bank Holiday Monday this week and will return Monday 12th May 2025. We wish all players, officials and there families a wonderful Bank Holiday weekend and will see you all when we return. Please also note that the league will be OFF for another bank holiday in May on Monday 26th May 2025 so plan accordingly.
