Monday 16th May - Cannock Round-Up

It was a good evening's football in the Cannock Monday 6 a side league this week, with all 32 teams in attendance throughout the night across all four divisions, with most games finishing very close!

Harchester United suffered a 4-3 reverse against PeaSports which puts the two level on points in the top two of the Premier Division, both having won 3 of their opening 4.  Sporting Bad Haircuts solid start to the season continues as they were 3-1 winners against Cannock Young Boys to remain in third place, whilst fourth placed Aston Villagers shared the spoils with Beaky Blinders in a game that ended 1-1, as did Cannockbis Dank Council and Skillage which ended 2-2.

Division One action saw River Plate move to the top of the pile this week as they were 3-1 winners over Karius To Glory, whilst PG dropped to second place as they were held to a 3-3 draw by Nice to Michu in an entertaining game.  Borussia Teeth remain in third but were held to a 1-1 draw by Athletico Gem Carpets this week in a hotly contested game, whilst Thiago X Silva will be thankful for their early goalscoring exploits as they raced into a 3-0 lead over Club Bates within 5 minutes, as the game ended 3-1 but with constant pressure from Club Bates for most of the game, that result moves them into fourth.

Bridge Rejects remain top of the table in Division Two as they edged past The Swan FC by a single goal continuing their perfect start to the season.  Allison Wonderland are second on goal difference only, as they have a perfect record at this stage too, they won an entertaining game against BarSportelona by 3 goals to 2.  Sevilla Depression moved into third place as they won a closely fought game 2-1 against The Arcade Cannock, whilst Harriers and The Special Ones couldn't be separated as the two drew 1-1.

Division Three leaders It Was Just Matip continue their dominant start to the campaign, they thrashed Red Hot Chilli Knackers 6-1 to keep up their perfect start to the season in the battle of the top two.  Third placed Real Sosobad were beaten 2-1 by Lallanas In Pyjamas as fourth placed Pathetico Madrid were 2-1 winners against Beacon Bombs to move within a point of the team above them.  Completing the action was Bazikstan FC who got their first win of the season, running out convincing 5-0 winners over Sheffield Monday to move up to sixth place.

We thank all teams for their continued commitment and reliability towards the league and look forward to seeing all in attendance for game week 5 in the Cannock Monday league.
