Monday 4th July - Cannock Round-Up

It was a good evening's football overall in the Cannock Monday 6 a side league this week, with all teams in attendance throughout the night barring PG and Club Bates, who have both been removed.

We welcome new teams Tekkerslovakia and Baines on Toast to Division One next week as replacements for the above!  We wish both good luck going into their first games on Monday 11th July.

Peasports won the battle of the top two this week as their impressive first season in the top flight continues and, barring a minor miracle sees them have wrapped up the title with three games to spare, as they were 4-1 winners over Harchester.  Cannockbis Dank Council remain in fourth place as they got a vital 5-2 win in their bid for safety, thrashing Skillage In The Village who drop into the bottom two late in the campaign.

River Plate went to the top of Division One at a crucial stage of the campaign, as they were 4-1 winners over Karius To Glory.  Borussia Teeth dropped from top to third in the promotion race, losing 5-2 to Athletico Gem Carpets who move into second place in what promises to be a big final three weeks of the season.

Bridge Rejects confirmed promotion from Division Two with three games to play after a superb campaign saw them run out 2-1 winners over The Swan in a hard fought victory.  Second placed Sevilla Depression won by the same score line as they bid for promotion, sitting two points clear of The Special Ones who were 3-2 winners against Harriers.  Fourth placed Allison Wonderland still have a chance of promotion as they picked up a comfortable 3-0 win against Barsportelona.

The title race is going down to the wire in Division Two as both Matip (5-0) and Real Sosobad (6-0 over Lallanas) were winners again this week, they meet next week in the penultimate game of the season where you'd expect the winners to take the title.  Fourth placed Pathetico Madrid won a five goal thriller against Beacon Bombs by 3 goals to 2 this week, and Bazikstan looked impressive as they disposed of Sheffield Monday by 8 goals without reply.

We look forward to seeing all teams in attendance for game week 13 with Cannock's premier providers of small sided football.
