Wednesday 16th January - Cannock Round-Up

It was another excellent evening's football in the Cannock Wednesday 6 a side league this week with all teams in attendance throughout the night as scheduled across all five divisions.

Teachings of Jon are the only team in the Premier Division to have won their opening two matches after a 5-2 win over Up The Chase.  Nutmeg City and Heath Hayes played an entertaining 2-2 draw whilst Baldeaux overcame The Ideal Standard 3-2 in a thrilling match.

New team Cheddar Ball FC have had a fine start to life in Division One, they brushed Newolvabora aside this week with a fine 7-0 victory.  Athletic Bilboat also picked up a second consecutive week with a 4-1 win over Real Ale Madrid, whilst there were wins for Strongbow Unathletic and Oriental Delight.

Tower FC look in fine fettle after the opening two games having scored 13 goals, this week they won 6-0 in their matchup against Belt Road as they are the only team in Division Two with two wins in a row.  Nash FC and The Mix sit in second and third place at this  early stage after they played out a 2-2 draw, whilst new team Mighty Mariners and TapTap played out arguably game of the night in which the newcomers ran out 5-4 victors.

Shameless 6 have made a flying start to life in Division Three this season, they made short work of The Jazz Shack in an 8-0 win so they're the only team in that league with a 100% record from the first two games.  

The Barns and Maradona Kebab are in second and third place respectively and played out a tight 0-0 draw.  New team Sovereign picked up their first win since joining as they overcame Deeney In a Bottle 4-2, meanwhile Mables Spartans put in a professional performance over Fiveways and ran out 2-0 winners.

Wyld Stallyns sit top of Division Four with a nice goal difference of 11 from their opening two matches, they won 5-1 against 6 Yard Club this week.  Lads United were 4-2 winners against newcomers Out Of Shape whilst Trafalgar FC ran out 2-0 winners over First Choice FC.  Finally, there was nothing to choose between Don't Have Kalou and Haven't Got One as both played out a 1-1 draw.
