Wednesday 5th May - Cannock Round-Up

It was another fantastic evening's football in the Cannock Wednesday 6 a side league this week which saw all 48 teams in attendance for their matches once again and some entertaining games on display.

Great Haywood's lead at the top of the Premier DIvision extended to four points this week as they ran out 3-1 winners against Up The Chase after falling a goal behind.  Tackeroo were leapfrogged by their opponents Oriental Delight who humbled them by a 7-1 scoreline to move up to second and drop Tackeroo down to third place.  Bilboat moved up a place into fifth after a single goal victory over AFC Heath Hayes, who dropped to sixth.  Elsewhere Ideal FC won the battle of the bottom two convincingly by a 6-1 scoreline against Win or Lose We Booze, to keep their faint survival hopes alive.

Nutmeg City made it a perfect ten with a 5-2 win over EMG in Division One, whilst Exeter Gently moved into the second promotion space with a 2-1 win over Stroke Titty, and it remains congested for that place as Strongbow Unathletic and Banglasesh sit only a point behind.  Strongbow moved up to third with a 6-1 win over MichuAtTheGayBar whilst a 2-0 defeat for Banglasesh against Bangers sees them drop to third.

Doc Hudson Odoi moved a step closer to sealing promotion from Division Two with a single goal victory over second placed SMC FC, whilst Limes FC couldn't capitalise on this defeat, they suffered a 3-2 defeat to Mable's Spartans and remain four points off the top two.  Gangsters Allardyce secured a third win in 5 matches to move into fifth position.

Dirty Brickies domination of Division Three continues, an 8-1 thrashing of Fiveways their latest result as they have their sights firmly set on Division Two next season.  Second placed 6 Lovely Guys from Penkridge ran out 4-1 winners in an impressive performance over The Mix (newly named Only Fools and Scorers).  Lads United are making a late surge for the last promotion space though, they now sit just a point off second after they thumped Newolvabora by a 5-1 scoreline.  Vic FC climbed out of the bottom two following a 2-2 draw with bottom placed Inter Yanan.

Newstead FS remain top of the pile in Division Four, a 5-0 win over Kore Ga Creampie sees them move a point clear of the chasing pack, Haven't Got One Yet and Largentina played out a stalemate to remain in second and third place respectively.  Elsewhere, the mid-table clash saw fifth placed Wyld Stallyns run out 3-1 winners over fourth placed Corneto'o.  Leavemyarselona in only their second game in the league picked up an impressive result, with an 8-1 drubbing of Paris Ganjaman.

There was a somewhat surprising result in Division Five as top of the table Limes FC 2 suffered a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Sevilla Lacatalant, who remain in fourth place.  That result allowed Bumfica to move within two points of the summit as they were 7-0 victors over The Pitmen.  Third placed Capri Sun picked up their third win in a row to stay in contention of promotion, a 2-0 win over StrokeCity their latest result.  Ball of Duty and Bacon Bashers couldn't be separated as they played out a 1-1 draw.

We wish all teams the best of luck ahead of game week 11 with Cannock's premier small sided football provider.
