Wednesday 11th September - Cannock Round-Up

It was another good evening of 6 a side football in Cannock on Wednesday which saw all teams in attendance for their scheduled fixtures throughout the night and some entertaining matches played across all five divisions.

It's neck and neck at the top of the Premier Division as Nutmeg and Teachings of Jon remain tied on 12 points each at the half way point of the season, both picking up wins again this week.  The other two matches in the division ending in 2-2 draws.

In Division One, Oriental Delight's 4-1 victory over Strongbow Unathletic means they are in seventh heaven at the halfway point, as they continue their 100% record after 7 games, 4 points ahead of the nearest competition, Tower FC.  Up The Chase occupy third place after a 5-0 win over Stroke Titty, whilst fourth placed Misfitz were 3-1 victors against Ideal FC.

Maradona Kebab sent out a strong message to the rest of Division Two, as they thumped Bocaseniors (who sat in second place before kick off) 12-2, boosting their goal difference in the process.  That result sees Baldeaux move up to second position following their 2-1 victory over Kezza FC, whilst The Mix were 2-0 winners over We are Bad.

Another team who sit on maximum points so far is Mighty Mariners who top Division Three after their 3-2 victory over Fiveways.  First Choice FC remain two points off the top, their only defeat coming against Mariners so far, as they won 5-3 against Jazz Shack in an entertaining affair.  Newolvabora climbed off the bottom of the table after they defeated Shameless 6 2-1, and Corneto'o slipped to the foot of the table after they were mauled 12-3 at the hands of Peahead Dave.

6 Lovely Guys from Penkridge remain at the top of Division Four, although they were held 2-2 by mid-table Tiny Kodjias this week.  Wyld Stallyns and Mable's Spartans closed the gap on them as both recorded 5-0 and 3-0 wins in their respective matches, leaving both just two points off the summit.  Haven't Got One Yet climbed further from the bottom after they defeated bottom of the table 6 Yard Club 3-2 in an entertaining match.
