Wednesday 27th November - Cannock Round-Up

It was a good evening of 6 a side football in Cannock on Wednesday which saw all teams in attendance throughout the night as scheduled and some entertaining football played as ever.

After being separated by 2 points pre-match we anticipated a close encounter between Oriental Delight and Tower FC but it proved to be anything but, Oriental getting to double figures as they trounced their opposition 11-3, this result sees their 100% record remain intact.  It proved to be a good night for Oriental in more ways than one as both Athletic Bilboat and AFC Heath Hayes could only manage draws against their opponents, meaning they are now a point off the summit.

Nutmeg City kept their place at the top of Division One as they romped to victory against Baldeaux, 6-0 the final score in a game that was close until the final 5 minutes when Nutmeg finished off their opponents clinically.  Up The Chase came out on top in an eight goal thriller against Ideal FC, in which they emerged 5-3 winners.

Pub? and Banglasesh remain in the top two in Division Two as both won their matches again this week, Pub remain a point clear as they beat Bocaseniors 3-1, whilst Banglasesh thrashed Trogs Army 5-1.  First Choice and Delph and Safety played out a classic in the 8pm game, First Choice 6-4 winners in a result which moves them to third place.  Finally, The Barns put in an impressive performance in their match against The Mix coming out 4-2 winners in an hotly contested finish, they added the fourth goal with the last kick of the game against the run of play as The Mix pushed for an equaliser.

Peahead Dave keep their 100% record alive in Division Three and put daylight between themselves and second placed Wyld Stallyns who they beat 2-0 in a professional performance.  The Jazz Shack moved up into third as they kept Fiveways in the bottom two places with a 2-1 win this week.  Newolvabora cruised to victory against bottom of the table Allthegearnoidea who they beat 4-0 to move into fourth place.

In Division Four 6 Lovely Guys from Penkridge met with Shameless 6 this week with both occupying the top 2 spots before kick off.  It was 6 Lovely Guys who kept their 100% record after they edged past Shameless by a single goal.  Haven't Got One Yet moved up to third place as they beat Out of Shape 5-0 whilst Lads United dropped to fourth after giving Capri Sun their first points of the campaign, 4-1 the full time score.
