Wednesday 15th June - Cannock Round-Up

It was another superb evening's football in the Cannock Wednesday 6 a side league this week, with all teams in attendance for their matches barring Banglasesh FC who have been spoken to and confirmed to return on Wednesday 22nd June.

Nutmeg City cruised to a 3-0 win over Ideal FC this week to stay top, whilst Exeter Gently keep up the pressure on the leaders after edging past Cat Zouma 3-2 in an entertaining encounter.  Mables Spartans suffered another hefty defeat this week as Athletic Bilswan romped to a 5-0 win.

Oriental Delight made it a perfect 10 in Division One as they were 5-3 winners over Baldeaux in an entertaining encounter.  Shameless 6 came from behind to beat 5-Ways FC 2-1 in a well competed affair, they stay in second place as they chase down promotion.  Newstead remain in third and two points off Shameless, they sealed a 6-3 win over Blewitt FC this week to keep their promotion aspirations alive, whilst Randy Bin Men made it back to back wins this week with a 4-2 victory over Romasexuals.

Inter Yanan were beaten heavily for the second week in a row as their promotion bid from Division Two stalls.  Top of the table SMC showed no mercy this week as they thrashed them 8-1, whilst Traff FC's 3-2 win over Strongbow sees third placed Inter fall three points off the promotion spots.  Limes FC's bid for survival got a boost this week as they were 2-1 winners over Leavemyarselona, moving them level on points with third bottom Cesc Pistols who shared the spoils in a 2-2 draw with Huntington FC.

Division Three was close but the top two are starting to break away after this weeks action, leaders Demba 9 Ba won a thriller with Limes 2 in a nine goal game that ended 5-4, seeing Limes slip into the drop zone.  Second placed Wyld Stallyns move three points clear of third placed Newolvabora after edging past them by 2 goals to 1, whilst Double Pogba and Koke suffered a second heavy defeat on the spin as Fiveways surprisingly beat them 6-1 this week as their promotion hopes took a dent.  Nothing could separate Cross Bar-Celona and Sevilla who drew 0-0.

Division Four leaders Pique Blinders suffered a shock this week as they were beaten 2-1 by 6 Men 1 Cup with a last minute goal.  Second placed HStikkytokky could not capitalise though as they were thrashed 5-2 by Ball of Duty, whilst third placed Ooff FC were 4-0 winners over The Pitmen to move within a point of the leaders!  Deportivo La Cannock completed the action with a 1999 Man U esque comeback as they turned round a 3-2 deficit with just a minute to play to run out 4-3 winners over Haven't Got One Yet in a topsy turvy game!

We look forward to seeing all teams in attendance for game week 11 with Cannock's premier small sided football providers!
