Wednesday 21st April - Cannock Round-Up

It was another good evening's football in the Cannock Wednesday 6 a side league this week, with all teams in attendance throughout the night as scheduled, barring Strongbow Unathletic and Baldeaux who unusually had to cancel this week but return to action on Wednesday 27th April.

Exeter Gently followed up last weeks 9-0 win with a 5-0 victory against Athletic Bilswan, giving them a +14 GD after just two matches as they look to retain their title this season.  Cat Zouma got off the mark for the season as they edged past Fevers Finest 2-1 in a high energy game. whilst Nutmeg City registered their first points of the season by thrashing newly promoted Mable's Spartans 6-0.  Ideal FC drew 3-3 for the second consecutive week as they and Banglasesh FC couldn't be split.

Shameless 6 got their second consecutive win this week as they edged an entertaining encounter against Vic FC 4-2.  Whilst Oriental Delight were winners of a 14 goal thriller as they eventually won 8-6 against Blewitt FC who've seen an incredible 23 goals in their opening two this term!  Newstead FC got their first points on the board as they were 5-2 winners over 5 Ways FC.

Traff FC won an entertaining seven goal game in Division Two as they were 4-3 winners against The Cesc Pistols, whilst SMC FC also got a second straight win in the form of a 3-1 scoreline against Leavemyarselona.  A last gasp winner for Limes FC saw them get their first win of the season as they won a frantic game against Huntington FC 4-3.

Sevilla Lacatalent were in fine form in front of goal in Division Three as they got their second win in a row by beating Wyld Stallyns 4-1, as newly promoted Double Pogba and Koke joined them by beating Limes FC 2 by 5 goals to 3.  Demba 9 Ba were 6-2 winners over Newolvabora, whilst Cross Bar-Celona came back from 2 down to run out 3-2 winners over Fiveways in a thrilling game!

Division Four leaders HStikkytokky are the only team to win both their opening games, as they were 2-0 victors against Deportivo La Cannock.  Ooff FC and Ball of Duty shared the spoils in a game that ended 2-2 as they sit second and third respectively, whilst Pique Blinders got their first win since joining after thrashing The Pitmen 8-1.  Haven't Got One Yet completed the action as they got off the mark for the season, beating 6 Men 1 Cup by a 4-1 scoreline.

We thank all teams for their continued commitment and reliability towards the league and look forward to seeing everyone in attendance for game week 3 with Cannock's premier providers of small sided football!
