Wednesday 29th May - Cannock Round-Up

It was a good evening's football in the Cannock Wednesday 6 a side league with all teams in attendance throughout the night as scheduled apart from Nash FC in Division Two who'll be spoken to accordingly to confirm their return on Wednesday 5th June.

AFC Heath Hayes won the battle of the top two teams as they met this week, running out 3-1 winners over FC Crescent who remain second, but now sit 2 points off top.  Cheddar Ball came out victorious in a 9 goal thriller against Teachings of Jon as they won 5-4, they now sit in third place but level on points with Crescent as the top tightens up.

It was top v bottom in Division One and there were no surprises as Nutmeg City cruised past Boca Seniors 5-0.  Athletic Bilboat moved into second place following their 3-2 win over We're Gonna Lose and Tower FC were held to a 3-3 draw against Baldeaux, dropping them to third.

Strongbow Unathletic's 100% record stretched to a sixth week as they ran out 2-1 winners over Belt Road whilst Tap Tap moved into second place and above The Barns who they beat 4-1 this week.  Maradona Kebab's 5-0 win over Newolvabora moved them into third place.

Misfitz suffered their first defeat of the campaign but remain top of Division Three, they were beaten 4-2 by fourth placed Pepe Pig who are now just a point off the top in a congested league table.  Second placed Jazz Shack were 2-1 winners over Shameless 6 whilst Peahead Dave were beaten by the same scoreline by Mighty Mariners, a result which drops them to third.

Fiveways remain top of Division Four despite their hefty 6-2 defeat against First Choice.  However, there are then four teams who are locked on 7 points, just two points off the top in what is shaping up to be an exciting season!  Wins for Lads United and Haven't Got One Yet puts them firmly in the title race whilst Wyld Stallyns 2-2 draw sees them sit fifth but still well in the hunt.

We wish all teams good luck going into the next round of fixtures with Cannock's premier provider of small sided football.
