PORTSMUFF CHAMPIONS OF AXMINSTER

It was a dramatic climax to our season of 6 a side in Axminster last night as Portsmuff did just enough in their top of the table title decider against Farmers Weekly to take home the Premier League title. The two rivals have been neck and neck all season and it came down to the last game with Farmers Weekly knowing they had to win to wrestle to trophy put of the hands of Portsmuff. In a tight game that saw both teams leave it all out there the teams were inseparable at the final whistle with a 2 - 2 draw the result giving Portsmuff the title by just a point. Brilliant stuff from both teams this season. Uplyme & Sinker finished 3rd after a 3 - 2 win in the final game against A.I FC who end up 4th. Nice To Michu ended their Premier League season with a win but will take the plunge to Division One along with The Roys.

Replacing them in the top flight will be newly crowned Division One champions Crouch Potatoes and 2nd placed 6 A Cider. Crouchy picked up another 2 points in what has been a near perfect season for them in their last match with Vikings, winning 3 - 2 while 6 A Cider were comfortably 2nd after a 7 - 3 win against A&C Dads. Put it in Dias confirming 4th place with a big win over Spunk Bubbles in 3rd this week to round off the season.

Congratulations to Alex of Uplyme & Sinker for picking up the golden boot in the top flight with 17 goals and to Memphis of Spunk Bubbles as his 26 goals gives him the Division One tops scorer award.

Don't forget we restart on Wednesday next week (13th July) with our brand new season and the fixtures will be out very soon.

Well done to all our teams and of course our brilliant officials. It's been a challenging season finding suitable and available refs but in Lance, Simon and Nath we seem to have a great team in place. Big thanks to those that have helped out throughout the season.

Well done to all our winners and good luck to everyone for the new season.
