Axminster 5 a side sends ball into orbit!!!

There are many things in life that are unexpected, Man United getting to the Champions League quarter finals, Leicester City winning the Premier League title and now in the BIGGEST shock ever we have seen Andy's Diamondz lose their first match in almost 2 seasons!

WNF (Wednesday Night Football) were covering the matches this evening and in an interview with the Diamondz captain before the match he sad, " I am a very superstitious man and the stars seemed to have aligned in favour of our opposition this evening" Carra and Nev seemed unsure on what he was talking about however they continued to sing the captains praises for the teams performances this season but were not expecting to witness what they were about to see!

Keeping on the theme of stars and space we were also lucky to witness the first Leisure leagues football to land on the moon from a more than wayward strike from a player maybe not on top of his game this evening. This is a proud moment for Leisure Leagues and when Carra spoke to League owner Stuart Tuckett he said,"Well we now have a football on the moon, maybe they have a spare slot on the 3g pitch when NASA arent using it and we can create the first 5 a side league in space!" Pretty sure Carra and Nev will be having some great conversations on the car journey home about the starnge comments made this evening.

The league is now a 3 horse race with the top teams only separated by a single point! A grandstand finish is to be expected but which way will it go!

It was Michaels last evening with us as a referee and Leisure Leagues would like to thank him for his time and wish him well for the future, maybe putting his feet up in the warm on a Wednesday night is the way forward!!

With this news we have managed to secure the services of a referee that has taken charge at the highest level, only last week he was in charge of a local derby between Exeter Panthers under 8's and Whipton youth where he only made 6 mistakes, gave 2 penalties and forgot his whistle. I'm sure you'll make him feel welcome.

Well done this week lads and see you next week.
