Match day report Gosport Wednesday 6 a side

Another good night of 6 a side football took place at Bay House School last night in our Gosport Wednesday league. All 18 teams were in attendance again which is great to see.

On a disappointing note there was a red card in one match for abuse towards the referee which continued after being dismissed. Please can I remind all teams and any new teams thinking about joining. This is not tolerated in any of our leagues, it might be with other providers but certainly not with Leisure Leagues. We don't want to dish out bans and fines but we will continue to do so if anything like this happens again and ultimately it could lead to permanent bans for players or teams. Thank you in advance for taking this onboard. We want a competitive but relaxed atmosphere at the league for all the players and our refs.

Now onto the results and it was as you were in the Premier League with all of the top 3 winning on the night. Too Many Goals FC kept up their 100% record with a 8-3 win over Past It who are yet to pick up a point this season after a second place finish in their first season. They will be looking to upset reigning champions Snorting Lisbon when the teams meet next week. Second place Shin and Tonic had two hat-trick hero's in their match with Damo's Dynamo's as captain Shane Thoma and Tom Winzar found the back of the net to take the win 6-2. Snorting Lisbon recovered from a setback last week to record a 4-2 victory against Pique Blinders. Goals from Jordan Whiteley 3 and Kalan Kosofsky did the damage.

Gurnley didn't fancy the Premier League but are taking Div 1 by storm and remain unbeaten so it looks like they will end up in the top division come the end of the season. Last night they secured a 3-1 win over TeamPB FC. Fish Fingers are only a point behind them though and they kept up the pressure with a solid 2-0 win against The Breadrins Curse, Butt and Sitch on target. There was a welcome first win of the season for Centurion as they defeated new team The Untouchables 6-2. A magnificent hat-trick for Scott Quincy along with goals from Andrew Wilson, Paul Taylor and Archer saw Centurion climb off the bottom.

Noodles and Chant are looking to good for Div 2 as they followed up last weeks 6-0 win with a 3-1 win over Diop It Like It's Hot. Captain Mike Beames scoring a brace with a strike from Darrell Hines for Noodles which see's them open up a 3 point gap to second place after Does It Got Six suffered a 2-0 defeat to Fox's In The Box. Finally the two bottom sides Schindlers Assist and Six Offenders couldn't be separated as they shared the points in a 1-1 draw.

Thank you to all teams and our match night supervisor Benji along with refs Phil, Kurt and Dave. See you are next week for match day 6.
