Great start to the new expanded Gosport 6 a side season!

The new Gosport Wednesday 6 a side season got underway last night with 24 teams in our expanded 4 division league structure. Unfortunately Fish Fingers couldn't make the first day of the season but will be starting next week. 

Before we start our round up it was great to see one of our teams Noodles And Chant win the runners up Leisure League prize draw on Tuesday night. The team will be going off for a tour of Wembley Stadium paid for by Leisure Leagues. Enjoy the day out! Let's hope they have something to put in the trophy cabinet there soon lol. 

The Premier League line up is looking strong this season with some old and new teams all in the mix. The opening 3 matches in the division proved to be competitive with plenty of quality on show. JJ Elite are the early leaders as they defeated Pique Blinders 5-2 with goals from Joe Fields 3, Joe Reed and Jordan Jones. Last seasons top scorer Christian and Bentley replied for Pique. The Champions Too Many Goals began their title defence with a 3-1 win over new boys Double Pogba and Coke. Captain Louis Watson was on the scoresheets along with a double from Pat Suraci. Harry Preston bagged a goal for Pogba. Two new teams Skertals and Steaming Bats faced each other in the other match and both had to settle for a share of the points in a 2-2 draw. Captain Lewis Sturgeon netted along with Brandon and Dan Bennett for Skertals.

The Untouchables take top spot in Div 1 after week one as they had Ben 2, Luke, Cal and Mig 2 to thank for strikes in their 6-2 win over Damo's Dynamo's. TeamPB started the season with a solid 4-2 victory against newly promoted Does It Got Six. Harry Leigh was on the goalscoring trail again as he scored a brace to add to efforts from Jones and Garrie. Div 2 runners up Noodles And Chant began life in Div 1 with a win over relegated Past It 8-5. Captain Mike Beames lead the side with two goals while Danny Sylvester also netted twice but were both outdone by teammate Martin Adams who scored 4 times to send Noodles on the road to victory. 

Diop It Like It's Hot go straight in at number 1 in Div 2 as they picked up a points match win with Fish Fingers unable to attend. New team Club Tropicana Drinks FC got off to a flyer with a 4-2 success against Six Offenders. Matt Dougan hitting the target twice to add to goals from Harry Austen and Jack Heath. The other fixture saw The Breadrins Curse get the better of Centurion 4-1 to go second in the table.

The new Div 3 got underway last night and it was Only Fools And Scorers who rose to the top. The lads have moved over from our Portchester league and took to the new Gosport league in no time at all winning 5-1 against Man Tity, James Algar with a hat-trick in this one. Pass Out & Dribble were the other victors in the division as the narrow beat Multiple Scoregasms 1-0. Simon Ware with the only goal of the game. Finally Win Or Booze and Gurnley shared a entertaining 2-2 draw. Liam Coleman and Nick Gunthorpe scoring for Booze while Stryder netting both for Gurnley.
