Covid update for Chippenham Tuesday six a side

It was a disappointing update from the government today in respect to small sided football and “contact sports” in general. 

Whilst we have seen positive announcements for pubs, restaurants, hairdressers, cinemas, outdoor gyms etc. The message remains that contact sports such as ours cannot resume YET! 

Please be assured we have made significant steps behind the scenes to ensure a safe return to you local leagues and across the country at Leisure Leagues International and we were eagerly ready to press the GO button to resume today. Therefore we are disappointed to have a setback like this but we believe this is just a minor delay. 

We fully expect a confirmed date to return next month, if not sooner. There are still a number of sectors who are unable to resume and we feel that there will be significant pressure on the government from these remaining groups over the coming days, to provide greater clarity on a date to return.

So for now it’s a NOT YET but NOT LONG! 

We’ll keep you all posted the minute there are any further announcements on a return!
