End of season in Calne Tuesday six a side

Calne Tuesday six a side

End of season review.

It was another excellent season for Fitness Box as they once again retained their title in the Beversbrook six a side football league. They were ran close by TMT who threatened for long parts of the season to take the trophy that Fitness Box he held since Christmas.

However, crucial slip ups against teams TMT would expect to beat ensured that Fitness Box just edged it and secured the title with a week to spare.

Both teams will be back next season to do battle once again.

The Rushes had a strong first half of the season but fell away badly post lockdown. They have been a great credit to the league and they leave with Leisure Leagues well wishes. We hope to see them back playing soon!

Dads had a disappointing campaign by their standards but have restructured their team since lockdown and will hope to come back stronger in the new campaign.

It was a similar situation for Netsix and Chill. They will start the season knowing that they will be leaving to go to Uni in due course. However, we once again wish them well in the future endeavours.

Finally, we say goodbye to RichTeaWellens. They never quite reached some of the heights that they achieved when they took part in the Swindon league but were nevertheless well worth their position in the league. Always giving teams a headache with their energy and commitment. They may yet be back in a new league but you’ll have to watch this dove to find out more.

The loss of these teams means we get to welcome some new faces to the league. Snorting Lisbon have already played a few games since lockdown and while the results haven’t always gone their way they will worry teams with their skill on the ball.

We also welcome Dyslexia Untied who are a great bunch of lads that will add another dimension to the league and Lads on Tourè who have a connection to RichTeaWellens as their captain Oli’s brother Josh was a RichTea regular.

The new season starts next Tuesday (26th August).

We look forward to seeing you then!

Thanks,

Dan
