Three way tie in Beversbrook six a side

After a thrilling night at the Leisure Leagues Calne Tuesday six a side from Beversbrook Sports Facility three teams now top the standings with two more close behind. It could turn out to be one of the most competitive and closely matched leagues around.

The night started with Chicken Tikka Mo Salah playing a points match against a Beversbrook select six. The game was played at a slow pace with teams preferring to save themselves for tougher battles ahead. After a disappointing result last week though, Chicken Tikka were happy to get some more points on the board as they look to keep in touch with the leading pack.

In the other early fixture RichTeaWellens miserable start to the season continued with another loss, this time to Netsix and Chill. Netsix and Chill had the legs on the boys in blue and some quality finishing proved the crucial difference in this one to ensure that Netsix stay just off the top on goal difference while RichTea stay firmly rooted to the bottom of the league table.

Fitness Box followed up their impressive debut performance with another thumping victory, this time against HOLO FC. The game which saw them bag six goals underline their credentials as the early title favourites and one has to wonder if they can go the whole season without dropping a point.

The game of the night had to be the last game between Dads Dream Team Reborn (can someone please explain to me where the idea for this name comes from) and The Rushes. The Rushes very much represent the veterans of this league and it seemed like it took them a few minutes for the limbs to loosen up as Dads stormed into a 5-0 lead. The goal of the night was scored during this period with one of the best worked team goals I have ever seen. It looked like something straight off of the training ground as the boys passed around The Rushes like a hot knife through butter.

However, massive credit to The Rushes though as they did not give up and once they had got over the shock of the early onslaught they got back to the sort of football that has seen them claim two wins from their first two games. With minutes to go goals from James Weston, Dan Jeary and a brace from Dean Nazer had got the game back to within reach. Then disaster struck, just when it looked like they might be able to grab an unlikely point The Rushes were caught out of position and with Dads having a fitness advantage they were able to counter. With this making the score 6-4 the game was put beyond The Rushes reach much to the disappointment of the large crowd that had gathered to watch.

Dads, you claim performance of the week and goal of the night so well done to you.
