The Solent and University of Southampton Thursday 6-a-side league at Cantell School

The first round of matches saw ‘Rodallega Bombs’ lose 5:2 to last year’s league champions ‘5 in the Pink’ and ‘Stem K Dons’ narrowly edge out newcomers ‘FC Farcelona’ 3:2.  In the second round of matches, ‘Culture FC’ lost heavily to ‘Busoc’ 5:0, the latter giving their opponents a torrid time for a large portion of the game, while ‘OE 6s’ beat ‘Mayflower FC B’ 5:4 in a thrilling back-and-forth game.  Meanwhile, ‘I Kante Fit My Willian’ proved a massive jump in class for their opponents ‘Saka Potatoes’ as they had their finishing boots on to end the game 12 goals to the good.  

‘Mayflower FC A’ could not avenge their second team in the third round of matches, losing 2:0 to ‘AFC Shirley’.  ‘Lads on Toure’ edged out ‘Almastone FC’ in a tight encounter, while ‘Stannmore Stores’ vs ‘Gylfi Pleasures’ was the pick of the bunch.  The momentum of the game ebbing back and forth, the former team ultimately took more of their chances to win 7:6 and cap a very open and even game.
