Match day 2 roundup

Leisure Leagues Loughborough roundup

Premier League

The Big Wangers 3-1 Salad Dodgers

Old rivals reunited in a high quality Premier League clash in which The Wangers turned out comfortable enough winners. Both sides looked edgy to begin with, but in the end it was goals from Dan Wright and Bash that made the difference.

Man of the match: Bash

Balotellitubbies 1-3 The Mighty Morphin Flower Arrangers

These two sides clashed for the first time in their Premier League careers, with the Flowers showing their quality to gain a vital 3-1 win. Balotellitubbies have been struggling on their return to the Premier League, and despite showing signs of some attractive football, were ultimately out muscled by their older opponents.

Man of the match: Jordan Tinley

Call Me A Dad 5-1 I Predict A Fryatt

Despite getting off to a slow start Call Me A Dad showed their Premier League quality, as a strong second half showing saw them score 5 times against I Predict A Fryatt. Brandon Hands was the best player on the pitch.

Man of the match: Brandon Hands

Division One

High And Munchen 1-13 Backup Players

If this game showed anything, it’s that Division One football at Leisure Leagues is still a high standard, and can at times be brutal. High And Munchen found this out the hard way as they were battered from pillar to post by an outstanding team performance from Backup Players.

Man of the match: Dalton Walker

Tuck Your Socks In 1-1 Brexteam

Two of our more physical teams took centre stage on Sunday, as the power of Brexteam battled against the skill of Tuck Your Socks In. With very little to choose between both sides, it came down to a scrappy goal, and then a wonder goal, from Josh Barr, to earn each side a share of the spoils.

Man of the match: Josh Barr

Out On Bale 2-2 Netsix And Chill

Netsix And Chill have been made the bookies favourites for promotion this season, but Out On Bale were having none of that on Sunday. A pulsating end to end clash almost saw Out On Bale claim all the points before a late effort from the Reds earned them a deserved point. Captain fantastic Connor Tinley pulled off some crucial saves throughout the match.

Man of the match: Connor Tinley

Division Two

Ivory Toast 2-2 AC Me Rollin

AC Me Rollin’s first game in Leisure Leagues proved to be an exciting one as they matched the experience of Ivory Toast throughout. There was little to choose between either team as chances were spurned at either end. Michael Tovey was excellent in his “enforcer” role.

Man of the match: Michael Tovey

Pinochitoe 4-2 Ad Maths

Ad Maths were coming off a 5-2 win last week full of confidence, but were unable to contend with the attacking flair of Pinochitoe on Sunday. Some deadly finishing from the All-whites sees them top the Division Two table.

Man of the match: Joseph Beechey
