Goals galore & 4 hat-tricks at Newton Abbot 6 a side

It was the last round of fixtures at our Newton Abbot Monday night 6 a side league before the Christmas break. All 6 teams were in attendance to round the year off.

Premier League leaders Shlongheads took on Murder On Zidane's Floor in a game which produced 16 goals and 3 hat-tricks. It was Shlongheads that got the win 10-6 with Jamie Smith and Jake Davenport both scoring 3 times. Zidane's captain James Fraser also hit a hat-trick for his side. The league's top scorer Josh Haynes brought his shooting boots with him again as Six Offenders closed the gap to second place Newton Wanderers, Haynes scoring a hat-trick in a 5-2 win for Offenders over Wanderers. Finally the bottom two met and it was FC Fairways who came out of it victorious with a 4-2 win against Fiorentina Turner. Aaron struck twice for Turner while there were 4 different scorers for Fairways as Cook, Milton, Jordan and Gibson all found the bag of the net.

Thank you for a great few weeks since I took over the league. The only down side is that as things stand we can't get anymore pitch time to expand the league with teams on the waiting list. Hopefully a slot will come up next year. Thank you to all our teams and of course to Steve for reffing and running the night.
