Fifa football at the Gerard Buxton Sports Ground

A great night of six a side football action at the Gerard Buxton Sports Ground as the league begins to take shape after game week three.

Silence of the Lahms 2-1 2 Goals 1 Cup

Silence of the Lahms had their first scare of the season as they initially went 1 down to 2 Goals 1 Cup after an excellent goal from Will Steckerl who scored his second goal in as many weeks to make himself a dangerous front man for 2 Goals. It looked for a long time that this goal would be the difference between the two teams but then Silence's captain George Staten began to show his class and took charge of the game. He struck back with two quick goals to keep Silence's undefeated start to the new season.

MOM: George Staten

Hardley Athletic 0-1 Bass Rugby

For a long time it looked as though this game would end in a stalemate as both teams struggled to create clear cut chances. Hardley contented themselves with playing long balls forward to their front man, while Bass tried to get the ball to Zack Stretch as much as possible. Zack was certainly not at his ruthless best and squandered a few chances when he could have passed to a team mate in a better position. In the end though his perseverance paid off as he found himself in a good position on the edge of the box and managed to score the only goal of the game.

MOM: Zack Stretch

Sloblins 0-7 Wirral Wubbish

A one sided affair characterised this game as Wirral Wubbish quickly established themselves by scoring goals for fun in the early stages of the game. By half time they were five nil up thanks to goals by Mark Turner (2), Jack Twine, Charlie Knight, and Josh Smith. In the second half they took their foot off the gas. However, they did have plenty more chances but Sloblins goalkeeper produced a decent second half performance to keep Wirral out.  In the end though he could not prevent a further two goals from Matt Daniel being scored and so Wirral recorded their first points of the season.

MOM: Mark Turner

Gangsters Allardyce 0:0 Expected Toulouse

If there is such a thing as an exciting nil nil draw then this was it. The game was played with great intensity and passion from both teams who clearly wanted to win. Gangsters had the more skilful players but Expected were solid in defence and looked to counter attack. They had good chances after some excellent strikes from their striker. However, it was their defence that allowed them to take a share of the points. Dan Slade in Expected's goal had a particularly good game in preventing a barrage of Gangsters shots from going in the goal.

MOM: Dan Slade

This concludes match week three. We go again next week despite the back holiday weekend so don't eat too much chocolate folks.
