Fun in the sun at Gerard Buxton!

It was a great night of six a side football at the Gerard Buxton Sports Ground in Royal Wootton Bassett. As the sun set, the boys and girls turned up the heat by producing some fantastic displays in some close and at times tense games.

Hardley Athletic went into the first game as slight underdogs but gave an excellent account of themselves and in the end were unlucky to come away with a point. Captain Dan Clarke put the team in front with a well placed finish after the ball was worked well down the left flank. As 2 Goals pushed forward to try and find a winner, they left themselves exposed on the counter and Hardley will feel like if they had managed to put their chances away then they would have taken all the points. Ultimately if was left to returning playmaker Nat Bell to get 2 Goals going by scoring 2 goals. After equalising with a powerful shot into the bottom left corner and will little more than a minute remaining, Nat picked up the ball in his own half. Running at the defence as they backed off Nat soon found himself on the edge of the box. He placed his shot perfectly to give Hardley's keeper no chance. 2 Goals stay in the hunt for the title but they will need to play better if they are to sustain this challenge in the second half.

MOM: Nat Bell

Match 2 saw Bass Rugby take on Wirral Wubbish. This was an incredibly close game with both sides finding it hard to break down the other and create genuine goal scoring chances. Wirral will think they they should have done more in front of goal and captain Robbie Stubbs will no doubt be booking the pitch to do some shooting practice because when Wirral did find a way through Bass' resolute defence they squandered good chances. Craig McLaughlin in particular, after being the hero the week before, will no doubt be having nightmares about the chances he missed. Wirral were made to rue those missed chances as Adam Jones snuck through after soaking up this pressure and managed to score passed Wirral's substitute goal keeper.

MOM: Iwan Floyd

Silence of the Lahms responded in the perfect way after losing the week before. They were always in control of this game and gave Expected Toulouse very little opportunities to have a shot at goal. Their only chance being when Hollie Timbrell crossed to her brother Jack who failed to direct his header on target. George Staten continued his impressive goal scoring form by getting back on the scoresheet. He has now scored in every week except last week. Joe Morley also managed to get himself on the scoresheet with an impressive finish into the bottom corner.

MOM: George Staten

The final game saw Gangster Allardyce continue their impressive resurgance as they look to get back on terms with the league leaders. The result was not really in doubt as Gangsters took an early lead and were largely in cruise control for the rest of the game. Goals from Callum Robert, Kyle Bretnall, Nick Morris and Steve Maddison rounded off an impressive goal scoring display. Credit however, must go to Sloblins who never gave him and battled hard until the end.

MOM: Callum Robert
