Boston Monday 6-a-side: End-to-end football

30/05/2022

The Boston Monday 6-a-side league saw some more fantastic games this week at the pitches of the Haven High Academy as the season nears its end.

In the Premier League, Spank Ya and Garage Barry got walkovers in their points matches due to a couple of vacant spots in the league, while league leaders Boston FC laid one hand on the trophy with a 6-0 rout of Romania. They now need just one win to seal the title. Sons of Pitches continued to make a push toward third place by beating FCHasbik by holding on to their narrow 1-0 lead.

Division 1 saw Tattoo Crew edge out a thrilling game 4-3 against Tekkerslovakia, but they have Real Ale Madrid hot on their tail, just a goal's difference behind. Real Ale got a walkover this week, before PedoPlarks FC beat Who Ate All Depays 6-2 in another pulsating game.

As for Division 2, the games were electric. Fritzls Basement Boys sealed the title and promotion in the match of the week, beating out Bank Lads 7-6 in an absolutely electric contest. The race between the Bank Lads and ImJustBeta for the second promotion spot is still open as they face each other next week, with ImJustBeta having lost 2-3 to Boston Man V Fat.

The Torettos held Intermivan to a 1-1 draw for just their second point of the season, and Martins Boys FC capped off a brilliant week of football with a 4-3 win over Sands United Boston in another thriller.
