Boston Monday 6-a-side league: A New Campaign Begins!

20/06/2022

A brand new season of the Boston 6-a-side Monday league got off the mark this week, with some tasty matches played in the opening round.

In the Premier League, new side Bosh Squad announced themselves in style, winning 4-2 against reigning champions Boston FC. They will certainly be a side to watch. Last season's runners-up FCHasbik started their campaign to go one better perfectly, with an 8-2 thrashing of Bulgaria. Sons of Pitches also got off to a great start with a 5-1 win over newly-promoted Real Ale Madrid.

Division 1 saw Who Ate All Depays beat Boom Xhakalaka 4-1, with new sides Lads on Toure and Class of 2023 going head to head, and the former also winning 4-1. Last season's Division 2 winners Fritzls Basement Boys made a fine start to their life in a higher tier, beating fellow promotees ImJustBeta 5-3 to continue their tense rivalry from last season. Pedoplarks FC and another new side Abiraj Singhers were locked in a 3-3 draw.

In Division 2, Tekkerslovakia were handed a boost in their quest to return after relegation, with a walkover in a points match due to one vacant spot in the league. Sands United Boston also started well to try and improve from a poor season last time around, winning against Bank Lads 4-0 in style. Another new side Gylfi Pleasures started strong with a 5-2 win over The Torrettos. Martins Boys FC and Intermivan played out a thrilling 4-4 draw in one of the matches of the week.
