New Season starts at Chatham Monday 5 a side

The new season got underway at Holcombe Grammar School last night for our Chatham Monday 5 a side league. We did have a couple of teams away but they will be returning on the 6th September.

In the Premier League there was a man of the match performance from Ben Carlile as he fired in four goals in a 6-1 win for the early leaders AC Me Rollin over new team Get Your Scally Out FC. Dylan Austin also got in on the act with a brace while Jody scored for Scally. Scottswood and Zidane's weren't in attendance so Kebab and Skinners picked up points match wins. Kebab playing a guest team that will be joining on the 6th.

Bayer Neverlosen fired themselves to the top of Div 1 with a 4-1 victory against Holcombe Goons. Both these sides are off to Uni soon so it will be a shame to see them go but two new sides will be taking their places in the coming weeks. Luke Mitchell was the man of the match as he scored one with the other goals coming from Billy, George Green and Oliver Wells. The other two matches were really close, both ending 3-2. There was a 3-2 win for Crossley as they defeated 66 Lions with Louis Giacomini picking up the man of the match award. Giacomini scored a brace while captain Dextter Roberts also scored. Lions had John and Dan to thank for their goals. Finally Weinsteins Wanderers won 3-2 against 6* Skills with striker Jack Everitt in top form with a hat-trick. In reply for 6* Skills captain Dan Kaszynski and Kylie Manktelow netted.

Thank you to all our teams, hopefully we should be back up to a full house when we return on the 6th September, remember no league on bank holiday Monday. Thank you to Nicola for stepping to run the evening with Ash away and to Jake and Kelly for reffing. See you all on the 6th for match day 2. Thanks Rich
