Teams head towards mega Monday clash in Swindon six a side

In what was another night of entertaining football in the Leisure Leagues Swindon Monday six a side from Kingsdown School as both Tidy Box FC and Ooo Thiago Silva both maintained their perfect starts to the season to ensure a mega match up next week between the two sides. At the other end of the table Swinn and Bumfica remain in a dogfight to ensure they do not end up as the recipients of the wooden spoon.

The main event of the night was the game between Bumfica and Ooo Thiago Silva. It was a match up of youth versus experience and it was an intriguing prospect to see who would come out on top. It was an entertaining and competitive game with both teams playing good football throughout and creating plenty of chances. Ooh Thiago Silva just about edged the first half and went 1-0 up. The first came from a cleverly worked and quick free kick that the keeper, despite getting a hand too, could not keep out. The second came just after the break. Midfield powerhouse Max Bailey made a run from deep to go one on one with the keeper. The keeper narrowed the angle but could not prevent Max from finidng the bottom corner with a well placed finish. Bumfica came back but a solid defence limited them to shots from range that Thiago Silva's goal keeper was able to parry wide. It was agreat team performance from Thiago Silva but credit must go for Phil who was relentless up front and simply never stopped running.

In the other game of the night both Tidy Box and Swinn benefited from a points match victory. However, this did not stop them both playing an enjoyable game that ended in a victory for Tidy Box FC. However Swinn will be happy with their performance which at times saw them put pressure on the current league leaders. The result finished 7-1 to Tidy Box which will give them the perfect confidence boost going into the clash that will most likely decide who finishes up with the league title and entry into the prize draw when the season ends in January.
