LEISURE LEAGUES COLCHESTER 6 A SIDE @ LEISURE WORLD TIPTREE

WEEK 1 - 1ST ROUND LEAGUE FIXTURES - PROMISING START TO ALL TEAMS

1st up this week ... 'Sub Standard Liege' Vs 'Boisies Athletic'.  A difficult game to predict this one...both teams scored early in a well contested 1st half. The 2nd half continued in the same vein with both teams battling hard for the win....a fair final result 2-2.

Next up league newbies 'Ronaldoughnuts' Vs the league runners up 'Suffolk & Close'.  Not the ideal 1st fixture for the newbies, however 'Suffolk' were somewhat surprised by 'Ronaldoughnuts' skills and determination to win their first fixture! A very close match that could have gone either way, however it was the experience of 'Suffolk' that just edged the win 3-2.

Next up 'Pink & Well Miss it' Vs 'Connor's Cufty'. Unfortunately 'Pink' were unable to field a team this week due to a number of their players on Holiday & Xmas drinks. 'Connors' were handed the 5-nil walk over win.

'Petr Check Yourself' Vs '50 Shades of Oshea' up next. '50 Shades' finished strong last year so 'Petr Check' knew they were in for a tough game here!  A real battle of a game from start to finish - a draw would have been a fair result, however '50 Shades' showed that little bit more grit & determination to win the game 3-2.

Final game of the night....The league Champions 'Out of Date Bread Vs 'Heavy Touch FC'. New teams always struggle to settle in this league, and a 1st fixture against the league Champions can be seen as a cruel start! That said.......what an exceptional performance from the Rookies! They really gave their all in a very well contested match. Final score 2-1 to 'Out of Date bread'. We have every confidence in 'Heavy Touch FC's' ability to bounce back next week!

Well done to all teams in attendance this week, some fine results. The league title is up for grabs!

Leisure Leagues Colchester would like to wish all our teams a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. We look forward to seeing you again on Tuesday 7 January.
