A new season underway at Leisure Leagues St Neots!

It was great to see all teams bar one in attendance for the new season of 6 a side football at St Neots. Can all teams be reminded that we will not tolerate any abusive or aggressive behaviour towards referees, and players or teams found doing this will be banned from our leagues.

We would like to welcome two new teams to our league:

- Grop United

- ATG No Idea FC

We would like to thank the two departing teams Cambridgeshire Hunter and Priory FC for their time with us and wish them all the best!

Premier Division

Fresh to the Premier League, Tekkerslovakia kicked us off against Aston Villagers in a highly contested game. Two goals for Harry Dynes and one for Matt for Tekkerslovakia was not enough as Aston Villagers took the points with two goals from Nelson Lourenco alongside one each from Jez Huggins and Alex Brolia in a 4-3 win for the Villagers.

It was a battle of the champions in our second fixture of the night as last season's division one champions SMD took on Premier Division champions DCDC FC. Rob Millward got on the scoresheet for SMD, but two goals in reply from Matt Larkman secured the points for DCDC in a 2-1 win.

Dolce & Lallana took the 5-0 win against Beer Bellies who did not fulfil their fixture. Can all teams be reminded that a weeks notice must be given for cancelling a fixture.

Division One

Relegated from the Premier League last season, Law Abiding Sigurdssons had a point to prove against Inter Yournan. A goal each for Tom, Oliver Wilson and James Geary was enough to see off goals from Josh Wischhusen and Ollie in a 3-2 win for Sigurdssons.

New Boys FC took on ATG No Idea FC for our second fixture of the night in Division One. New Boys looked to get their first points on the board for the new season with a goal from Jez Huggins and a screamer from Tom Townsend. ATG No Idea had other ideas this week, with two goals from talisman Paul Berryman bagged two with one from Bogdan Stolojan as ATG No Idea took the points in a 3-2 victory.

Our last game of the night was The Kiddos against Grop United. The Kiddos finished bottom of the table last season, so wanted to get off on the right foot, which they did with two goals from Archie Collins and one from Charlie White whilst a depleted Grop United side only managed one through Jez Huggins. The Kiddos securing a 3-1 win for their first 2 points of the season guided by star captain Joe Brown.
