A great opening night to the season

Thank you to all the teams for attending our first night at this brand new 6 a side league at Portchester Community School. Overall it was a very successful night although there were a couple of teams that let us down, 2 Goals 1 Cup pulled out of the league at late notice after confirming they would be there which was frustrating but they have been replaced straight away by a 'It's Coming Home' Let's hope we are in the final before they play their first match next Thursday. Also AFC Beard did not appear after confirming, we will be aiming to get in touch with them this week to confirm if they are to continue before replacing them. Apart from that all teams played and it looks like it's shaping up to be a good competitive league with a mixture of young and experienced teams.

Onto the football and Bayern Bugle showed they mean business with a 8-0 win over Moleicester City to go top of the Premier. Viking FC and Sergio Gameos Lee had 5-0 points match wins due to the 2 teams that didn't appear. The other match in the Premier was one of the most exciting with Saxon FC edging it against AFC Southsea with a 3-2 win.

In Div 1 we saw some very tight matches, Bayer Neverlusen however got the better of Portchy Pantherz to go top winning 5-1. Jimmy Floyd Bottle Bank picked up a 2-0 win against Liam Howard FC while Inter Menan won a by the same scoreline against Oldan Pathetic. In the other match it was only a late penalty that separated Pants and Foxes Forest FC, with Pants securing the 1-0 win.

Thank you to all teams, looking forward to next week. Please remember to get your players to register on Leisure Leagues website otherwise they won't get MOTM awards. Finally make sure you join the Portchester Leisure Leagues facebook group, we upload videos there.
