Match day report East Cowes Sunday 6 a side

All 24 teams were in attendance last night at our East Cowes Sunday 6 a side league at Queensgate Primary School after a week off due to the England match. It's now the halfway point of the season and we begin the run in next week with plenty to play for across all 3 divisions.

Dangerous Dogs took a massive step towards reclaiming the title as they won a fiercely contested encounter with a strong Wkd N Bad side 5-3. Captain Max Foreman scoring 4 of the Dogs goals while Jack Davies got the other. The victory sends them 4 points clear after Bacon Sane suffered a 5-1 loss to a resurgent Netsix & Chill side who are now just 2 points off second spot. Connor Furmidge hit a double hat-trick as No Shot FC won 10-3 against FC Union Street while Eskimo FC won 10-5 against Bacuna Matata. The highlight of the match being a cracking strike from James Gallop into his own net lol. To be fair he did manage a few down the other end to make up for it while Bacuna found the target through Thomas Bell 2, Jody Lester, Michael Jenkins and Jordan Westwood.

Ryde Raconteurs and Old McInnes both had tough matches to contend with in Div 1 but both found what was needed to secure the wins to keep the level on points at the top of Div 1. Raconteurs are ahead on goal difference as they beat AC Me Rollin 2-0 last night while in a high scoring game Old McInnes won 6-4 against Sancho's And Cheese. Applepie Turnovers jump above Vectis Rovers on goal difference as they got the better of them 7-3 on the night. Liam Ormond scoring a hat-trick to add to strikes from Max Hawkins 2 and Harry Youngson 2 for Turnovers. In the other match Dan Storey hit a brace but it wasn't enough as OFOB Strollers went down 3-2 to Ice Island who climb out of the bottom two.

Hardly Athletic moved 3 points clear at the top of Div 2 with a comfortable 7-0 victory against Touch Matip. Hardly getting their goals through James Gallop 4, Lee Hardwick, Ryde Phillips and George Johnson. Moving up into second are We Lose Every Week who are enjoying a much better season after relegation. They move above Boys In Brew with a tight 2-1 win against them. Luke Standen and a own goal helping them to victory. Muga are up to third as they won 1-0 against Kalou while Ryan Groundsell, Shane Joyce and Aaron Smith all scored for HeskeyTime96 as they defeated Badder Roma 3-1.

Thank you to all our teams and Jukesy, Dave, Chris and Calum for reffing the night. See you all on Sunday for match day 8.
