RUGBY TUESDAY 28TH MAY - LEAGUE ROUND UP

Rugby Tuesday 28th May

There was one fixture tonight which was always going to be one to watch out for... Tr3way against Ballotellitubbies! This always was going to be played  with  intensity, where both teams fancied their chances. But given  that Tr3way have already dropped points to Puma’s Vets, it could be a crucial fixture to look back on come the end of the season. Given recent displays, there is a sharper focus to Tubbies game, and a renewed determination to gain some silverware (despite the odd iffy ‘row z’ effort from skipper!)  Tonight was further evidence of Tubbies mounting a title challenge, as they ran out winners by a two goal margin. We fully expect Tr3way will be back in the mix before long however given the players they have at their disposal. The season’s results, as mentioned last week, really are a bit of a reverse of the general form the previous season. Benteke Fried Chicken claim the points off last season’s champions Good FC by default, and Puma’s Vets yet again put in an accomplished display against Blockburn Rovers. Powerful driving surges forward from Puma’s make them a team for our other sides to be wary of for sure. Blockburn have recruiteda couple decent players who we know from our Sunday league, so they look like they have strong squad numbers. This will serve them well and won’t be long before they get their first ‘W’ notched into their form book. Finally, Exeter arrived with a very strong looking side. These boys clearly have intentions of mixing it at the top of the table and seeing how they fare. At kick off it looked like Netsix & Chill were in for a very tough test. Netsix even went a goal down. But they shown great resilienceand neat passing play to cut open Exeter and rack up quite a healthy score line come the final whistle. Despite the result, Exeter look up for a challengeto accrue as many points as possible and see where they get to!
