NETSIX CHAMPIONS OF RYDE 6 A SIDE

We wrapped up a challenging season at Ryde Academy last night with Netsix & Chill crowned as Premier League Champions, ending with a 2 point lead over rivals East Ryde Massive. Due to a number of top flight teams falling away towards the back end of the season it has made it a hard division to manage and we really appreciate the patience of the teams that are left in getting through the summer months and sticking with it. We head into the new campaign next week and will be doing all we can to make sure there are far less, hopefully no, points matches next season. Everyone would rather play competitive games and we will aim to make that happen.

Obviously our August Offer of a £1 sign up and your 1st match fee paid for is still running so now is a great time to get registered and be part of the new season. Don't forget Ryde Academy recently had a new state of the art 3G playing surface so the set up is great there and the league will be buzzing again soon. Get involved now and avoid the Autumn rush!

Division One was more straightforward with a full quota of teams for most of the season. Goldies returned to action this season and it's great to see them grabbing the silverware, very well deserved and a comfortable 5 point gap to Chamakh in 2nd proves what a dominant season it's been for the team. Guns N Moses also returned and they finish 3rd ahead of one of our longest serving sides, Butlins Bandits in 4th.

The Golden Boot awards this season go to Jake Toogood in the Premier League for his 19 goals for Sat Fesh while Thomas Miller's crazy total of 45 see's him pick up the Division One award. The award for MVP which is decided by the refs after each game if a player stands out as having made a particularly important contribution to their team is won by Owen Connolly of Khedira Pin Drop which is great to see, well done to all our award winners.

Fixtures for the new season will be out soon, we kick off again on Thursday next week so please be ready.

Good luck to everyone for the new season.
