Ryde Thursday 6 a side match day report

All teams were in attendance last night at our Ryde Thursday 6 a side league which saw Hurrell's Return take the Premier League title.

Congratulations to Hurrell's who picked up the all important win last night against Butlins Bandits to secure their first Premier League title. It wasn't a easy fixture against a good Bandits side who pushed them all the way but Hurrell's showed their class to win 4-2. They are now 5 points clear of Goldies who did their bit with a 8-5 win against Salt & Pepe last night however Hurrell's can't be caught now with just two games remaining. Unfortunately due to Covid restrictions the open top bus parade can't go ahead but celebrations are set to go ahead behind closed doors! Well done on a great season. There is still all to play for at the bottom as Cool Runnings boosted their survival hopes with Billy Chugg continuing to fire them towards safety with all seven goals in their 7-3 win over bottom side Getting On A Bit. Scouting For Goals moved above Butlins Bandits with a 4-2 victory against Roverners with goals from Dan Taylor 3 and captain Dan Bonner.

Congratulations to Sat Fesh FC who secured the Div 1 title in emphatic style with a resounding 23-0 win against Raul Moat-drid. Top scorer Paddy O'Meara banged 9 goals to take him up to 32 for the season. Other goals came from Matt Woolford 7, Sam Higgin 3, Luke Bowman 3 and Tom Allen. Steve Thorpe and Dan Taylor were on the scoresheet for Murder On Zidanes Floor however this wasn't enough to prevent East Ryde Massive winning 7-2 and moving into the top two. They go above Class On Ash who suffered a 5-4 loss to Vectis Rovers despite 4 goals from James Gallop. Vectis Rovers goals coming courtesy of Tony Pearce 2, Gaz Scott-Jackson, Chris Joliffe and Sam Utteridge. Ash weren't helped by an injury in this game, we of course wish the player a speedy recovery. Also they had a red card! Please can we remind all players that foul and abusive language towards a match official especially a young trainee ref will not be tolerated and players will receive bans and fines which will lead to permanent exclusion if not corrected. To conclude our results round up there was a 6-4 victory for Chamakh My Pitch Up who took the points in their game with Second Half FC. Goals from Adam Jupe 2, Owen Miller 2, Josh Wotherspoon and Thomas Miller.

Thank you to all teams and our match night supervisor Jukesy along with refs Chris and Reece. See you all next week, who will secure promotion and who's heading through the Premier League trap door.
