Monday 17th January - Worcester Sixways Round-Up

It was another excellent evening's football in the Worcester Monday 6 a side league this week with all teams in attendance for their matches, barring Woo Town Wanderers who had a few late dropouts but return as normal on Monday 24th January.

We were pleased to welcome new team Rodallega Bombs to the league this week, they had a tough first game against top of the table Phoenix but put in a decent performance considering, and although losing 4-0 will be looking to build on this in future weeks.

We are delighted to welcome another new team to the league this Monday coming, we wish BBF good luck going into their first fixture on Monday 24th January as they face Rodallega Bombs.

It is still incredibly tight at the top of the Premier Division as three teams are still split by a single point going into the last three games.  Phoenix's 4-0 win mentioned above, coupled with Tics 5-0 win and Shamgwop Rovers 9-2 thrashing of Moyes N The Hood keeps it that way.  Something could give this week though as second placed Tics on Toure meet Shamgwop.

Route One Rovers bought themselves back into title contention as they edged past Chateuneuf Du-Pape by a 2-1 score line, bringing them level on points but theoretically a point behind with the goal difference to contend with.  ABCDE FC and Malvern Massive played only their second games with us this week as the two met, with ABC running out comfortable 7-1 winners.  Well done to Plunger & Superglue who picked up their first victory of the season in the form of a 2-1 win over We Lose Evra Week.

There are still four teams in contention for promotion from Division Two with only three points separating them.  Who Ate All Depays remain top of the table as they won an entertaining game against against Balt-J by a 3-2 score line.  General Sports Enthusiasts lost ground on the leaders as they suffered a 4-1 reverse at the hands of Its Hayley's Beanie Boys who move just a point off them with that result!  Goals Aloud dropped to fourth place after a 4-2 defeat to Nomers.  New side Rybrook Raiders got off to a positive start as they edged past Gerry Hat Tricks 2-1 in a competitive match.

As ever, if you have any queries regarding the league you can contact Shaun at Head Office on 0333 123 2340.

Good luck to all teams going into the next round of matches with Worcester's premier providers of small sided football!
