Wednesday 14th September - Worcester Sixways Round-Up

It was another good evening's football in the Worcester Wednesday 6 a side league at Sixways this week, with all teams in attendance for their matches as scheduled and some excellent games played across all four divisions!  The only teams missing this week were 'Wednesday Social' and 'MEC Cartel' who had both given 7 days notice to cancel but return on Wednesday 21st September.

Leaders El Nino keep up their perfect record thanks to a 5-0 win due to Wednesday Social's absence, but second placed FC Marshelona lost ground on the top as they were held to a 1-1 draw against Sporting a Beergut meaning they are now three points off the leaders.  Third placed Chicken Ball FC got back to winning ways this week as they were comfortable 5-0 winners over Priestlane Wanderers, whilst Werder Beermen moved off the foot of the table at the expense of their opponents Expected Toulouse, whom they moved above with a single goal victory.

Division One continues to be led by a dominant Small Pond FC, they claimed their fifth win in six games in the form of a 5-1 thrashing of second placed Dales Sixes whom they moved three points ahead of.  Third placed Paris Ganjaman were 3-2 winners in their match against Lads on Toure.

Division Two leaders Tuna FC dropped a point for the first time this season as they were held to a 3-3 draw by Murder on Zidane's Floor in an entertaining encounter.  Second placed Up The Alma were unable to take advantage of this as they suffered a 2-1 reverse against Claines FC who move level on points with the team they beat.  Probably Hungover looked anything but as they were in impressive form this week, beating Keith Irvine United by 4 goals to 1.  Tupsley FCC picked up a victory on their second game in the league as they look to improve on the position they inherited, they were 3-1 winners against 2 Girls 1 Schlupp.

Lapwing FC's perfect record extended into a sixth week in Division Three, as they were 4-2 winners against Gotta Die for 3 Pints, whilst Handover 96 Pies got a tasty 4-3 win against Ruud Van Nipplejoy in an entertaining match-up.
