Sporting start with a win at Bury St Edmunds 6 a side

The new Bury St Edmunds 6 a side season kicked off last night with all 12 teams in attendance. The changes to the match length should see more goals this season although one match this week certainly didn't produce them.

That match in the Premier League was between new team Eastbury Eagles and Pique Blinders ended in a 0-0 stalemate, something of a rarity in 6 a side football. Defences on top! Last season's champions Sporting a Beer Gut went straight to the top with a 7-3 win over AFC Cornhole while the other match in the Prem saw Skillet Bang beat Div 1 champions Athletic Bilbarrow 3-2.

In Div 1 there was a big win for Cockfield Sixes as they overcame Sheffield Tuesday 13-1 to go top. There was also a win for new team AFC Viking who defeated another newcomer Failed Delivery 6-3 while Gangstas Allardyce got the better of the Good Ol Boys 4-2.

Thank you to all teams and see you next week
