We returned to the Stourbridge Monday League with a night full of goals and exciting games. Alongside some largely dominating games from inform sides.

Premier Division-

The Premier Division kicked off in a closely contested 2-1 win for ‘Inter Mi’Bathams’ against another strong side in ‘Chip Butty FC’, however pivotal goals from Matt Preston and Will Jennings secured the important win for ‘Inter Mi’Bathams’.  The second game was played between ‘Crep City FC’ and ‘Big Stiff idiots’ where newly promoted ‘Big Stiff idiots’ could not get their first win of the new season because ‘Crep City FC’ came away with a 3-0 win and Aarron Hughes scoring 2 goals. The third game came in a 5-0 victory for ‘Wall Heath FC’ which pushes them up to 3rd in the league. The final game finished in 8-3 win for ‘Wolves Ay We’ in a largely dominating performance over newly promoted ‘Stella FC’.

Division One-

The first division included an evening packed full of goals. The first game began with a solid 5-1 win for ‘West Midlands United FC’ against ‘We Don’t Give A Flying Duck FC’ this was a strong performance from ‘West Midlands United FC’ with equally strong performances from Jon Wellings and a hattrick from Sam Tonks. The second game was an exciting one between ‘Waggon Wanderers’ and ‘Bridgnorth Town FC’ where ‘Bridgnorth Town FC’ ran out 5-0 winners. The third game was also a very entertaining game where ‘SH Dons’ beat ‘BBF United’ 3-0 in a game which was closer than score line suggests with 3 important goals from Jack Betts to secure the win. The final game was  an absolute thriller that ended 7-5 to ‘Redz On Stedz’ over ‘Gary Neville is A Legend’.

Division Two-

We also had some high scoring games in Division 2 in the Stourbridge Monday League and it kicked off with  ‘Call the Cops’ vs ‘Waggon Wanderers’ in which ‘Call The Cops’ came out with a convincing 7-2 win as Chris Dalloway scored 4 goals and Josh White scored a hattrick.  The second game was also well contested however ‘Bayern Neverlosen’ came away with the 5-0 win. The third game was closer as ‘Agent Pena’ edged a 2-0 win over a good ‘This Is Plough We Do It’ with important goals from Tom Gibbons and Chris Foster. The final game was also very entertaining in Division 2 where ‘Cott Lane Colts’ continued their push for promotion and closed in on top spot with a 4-2 win over midtable ‘Oaks Ay We’.

Division 3-

Division 3 proved an exciting watch with the first game resulting in a 12-2 win for ‘Park Tavern FC’ over ‘Lengman Ridahs’ with Louis Primer scoring 7 goals and Harry Edwards scoring a hattrick. The next game in the Division 3 was slightly closer with Ben Cassidy of ‘Football Club FC’ scoring an important brace to seal the win over ‘Pique Blinders’. FThe third game of Division Three there was another dominating performance of the evening where ‘Schoolboy Error’ sealed a 6-1 win over ‘Umps XI’ to move them to 2nd in the league but only not top by one goal. The final game of the night saw 'Paris Ganja Man' run out 3-1 winners against new team 'She Was Only XI' meaning a strong start by this side.

Match of the night- This came between ‘Redz On Stedz’ and ‘Gary Neville Is A Legend’ where ‘Redz On Stedz’ acquired a 4-1 lead by half time until ‘Gary Neville Is A Legend’ clawed the game back to 5-4 to them after half time until a late drive from ‘Redz On Stedz’ saw them score three crucial goals in the final minutes to win the game 7-5. A yo-yo game but thoroughly enjoyable to watch and play in.

Team of the night- ‘Park Tavern FC’ their 12-goal routing against ‘Lengman Ridahs’ makes them team of the week. Top of the league in Division Three, will it be promotion for them this season?
