GOALS GALORE IN THE STOURBRIDGE MONDAY LEAGUE

We returned to the Stourbridge Monday League with a night full of goals and exciting games. Alongside some largely dominating games from inform sides.

Premier Division -

The first two games saw ‘Inter Mi Bathams' and 'Big Stiff Idiots' play a very entertaining game as both came away with 5-0 wins which ensures they 'Big Stiff Idiots' stay in second position above ‘Inter Mi Bathams’ on goal difference. The third game included in form top of the league ‘Wolves Ay We’ and saw them brush aside very good ‘Crep City FC’ in a 7-0 victory which included important goals from Aaron Bishop. Although it will have to take a huge goal swing for them not to be crowned champions of the Premier Division again they put it beyond any doubt with a point next week. The final game of the evening which was Game of the evening in the Premier Division was between ‘Dynamo B.C.’ and ‘Chip Butty FC’ the result ended 4-0 to ‘Chip Butty FC’ however this doesn’t take away the impressive performance which ‘Dynamo B.C.’ displayed, showing encouraging signs with the new season fast approaching.

Division One-

Division One displayed an extremely entertaining evening with lots of goals scored throughout it. The first game set the standard for the evening which is why it is also GAME OF THE EVENING this saw a ‘Bridgnorth Town FC' victory over ‘We Don’t Give A Flying Duck FC’ with the final score being 10-3 for ‘Bridgnorth Town FC’ as they continue to try and challenge the top two as the season nears its end. The highlight of the game came through 4 goals from Charlie Fellows. The second game of the evening saw another dominating performance as ‘SH Dons’ put 6 goals passed a struggling ‘West Midlands United F.C.’ as they still search for points to pick them out of the relegation zone. With this performance 'SH Dons' are also our TEAM OF THE WEEK, as they look to confirm there place in the Premier Division next season. The final game saw ‘Redz On Stedz’ on fine form with a 6-2 victory over ‘BBF United’ in a convincing performance therefore keeping them top going into a game against 'Bridgnorth Town FC' next week.

Division Two-

Division Two was slightly closer than the other leagues as all teams produced great displays with marginal errors proving to be the difference. The first game of the evening saw 'This Is Plough We Do It’ put in a brilliant display to win 2-1 against one of the promotion chasing sides ‘Oaks Ay We’ and in the process close up the race for relegation as well. It was a night for the underdogs in the Stourbridge Monday league also as it saw new team ‘Baiteze Crew FC' defeat another promotion chasing team ‘Agent Pena’ 4-1. The third game of the evening was GAME OF THE EVENING for Division Two as two of the promotion chasers ‘CALL THE COPS FC’ AND ‘COTT LANE COLTS’ faced off, ‘Call the Cops’ proved why they were top of the league and beat ‘Cott Lane Colts’ 3-1 in an end to end exciting game, two points still splits the top four in this Division so with three games to go its still all to play for. The final game in Division 2 was an even tighter contest between ‘Bayern Neverlosen’ and ‘Waggon Wanderers’ where ‘Bayern Neverlosen’ won 2-1 and therefore have now put themselves well and truly back in the promotion picture. With four of the five teams pushing for promotion facing off next week how will this Division look after matchday 12?

Division Three-

The evening in Division Three began with 6-1 victory for ‘Park Tavern FC’ over ‘She Was Only XI’ with them returning back to winning ways thanks to a hattrick from Jack Fegan. The second game in division 3 was GAME OF THE EVENING WITH A 3-2 victory for ‘Dynamo Greyhound PFC’ over ‘UMPS XI’ with all 3 of the goals coming from Jack Wild, these are two teams very much looking to build on what they have as the new season is on the way. The third game of the evening was a 5-0 win for ‘Football Club FC’ and means they are close to promotion to Division Two with three games left. In the final game ‘Schoolboy Error’ must have watched the third game as they decided to double the score line in a game where they significantly beat 4th place ‘Pique Blinders’ 10-0 which included standout performances from Grant Robinson who scored 4 goals and also Gregg Davenport who scored 3. Congratulations to 'Schoolboy Error' who with this result have confirmed there promotion to Division Two with 3 games to go!
