STOURBRIDGE MONDAY 6 A SIDE BREAKING NEWS 1ST AUGUST 2022

All the latest news for the Stourbridge Monday 6-a-side League is direct from Stourbridge Rugby Club.

A fantastic night of 6-a-side football with some entertaining fixtures played throughout and all teams in attendance as expected.

We kick off the breaking news with the Premier League as all teams battle hard to achieve wins. The game of the evening however was the 2-2 deadlock between 'MC Dons' and 'BBF United' as both teams went head to head after each important goal went in. 'MC Dons' pick up this important point as they try and escape the relegation zone and are now only a point away from getting out. However, this important point could not be extended to a win due to an excellent performance from 'BBF United' and an MVP performance from Jordan Tranter scoring an all-important brace to secure the draw.

Division One games this week were exceptional with teams coming out with great wins. The game of the evening is given to the 3-1 win for 'Roebuck FC' against 'Call the Cops FC', this win keeps their lead at the top of the division at 3 points, can they continue to run away with the league? 'Call the Cops FC' however put in a hearty performance and against any other team could've picked up points! As we hit halfway 'Roebuck FC' go into a game with 'Bayern Neverlosen' full of confidence and unbeaten in the season so far.

In Division Two game of the evening was the 3-2 victory for 'This Is Plough We Do It' against 'Pique Blinders'. This extremely close game is a great portrayal of how close the league currently is. Neither team could've predicted the final score with goals flying in throughout the game. In the end a sensational team performance from 'This Is Plough We Do It' was too much for 'Pique Blinders' as they climb into second place as we hit the halfway stage of the season.

The game of the evening in Division Three was a sensational 10-goal thriller which finished 5-5 between 'Unprotected Cesc' and 'Hickorys Allstars' with both teams completely managing to cancel each other out with 5 goals a piece. Anyone who got to see the game were left in awe thanks to fantastic attacking football on display ffrom both sides. It will be interesting to see who can come out on top when both teams face off again later in the season.

The team of the week this week is given to 'Park Tavern FC' as they continue their fine first half of the season and climb up to second with a 6-2 win over 'Inter Mi'Bathams'. As they have settled in nicely to Premier Division life they will be looking to build on this for the second half of the season and close the two points they are behind the league leaders 'Celta Allstars'. We look forward to seeing if they can continue this form for the rest of the season.
