STOURBRIDGE MONDAY 6 A SIDE BREAKING NEWS 24TH JANUARY 2022

All the latest news for the Stourbridge Monday 6-a-side League direct from Stourbridge Rugby Club.

A fantastic night of 6-a-side football with great football played by the teams in attendance.

We did unfortunately have two non-attendances as 'Brignorth Town FC' and 'Big Stiff Idiots' were unable to fulfil their fixtures. The league has already been in contact with both and both are back at the league this week. It is paramount all teams try their hardest every week to be there and if it is not possible to contact the Area Manager in plenty of time to make other arrangements.

Some great games in the Premier Division but the game of the night this week goes to the game between ‘Crep City FC’ and ‘Chip Butty FC’. This is a result of underdogs ‘Crep City FC’ who currently sit in 6th place beat top of the table ‘Chip Butty FC’ to gain a creditable 1-0 victory as they pulled together with an excellent team performance to add to their points tally and move themselves further away from the bottom two teams in the league, we look forward to seeing if they can continue this good form and move up the table further. The goal scorer Tanaka Mundoma was the difference between the two sides.

A few games stand out in Division One, but it was 7th place ‘Roebuck FC’ who put in the performance of the evening with an outstanding 4-0 victory over the previous top of the table team ‘Park Tavern FC’ as the evening continued to show that no game is certain in any league. An important hat trick from Joe Morris may be crucial to their survival in the league if he can continue his prowess in front of goal as the final 4 games commence.

The game of the night in Division Two was the game between ‘This is Plough We Do It’ and ‘Waggon Wanderers’ as ‘This Is Plough We Do It’ edged an important 2:-1 victory to keep on the pressure on the top of the table as they currently sit in 2nd with the same points as ‘Dynamo B.C.’ with goal difference being the crucial factor. It was a Sam Woolvin double that gained the victory for the 2nd placed side. We look forward to seeing how this title race pans out.

Team of the week for this week has to be ‘SteelYES FC!’ as they continued there fine start to the league with a 7-1 win over there rivals 'We Don't Give A Flying Duck FC'. With one eye on the new season they will continue to push to get the most points possible before the season ends.
